Will Luna bring Bill and Katie back together on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Wednesday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful was an emotional one for Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) as he confessed to his ex-wife, Katie (Heather Tom), that he feels "tormented" for the terrible mistake he made in getting Luna (Lisa Yamada) pardoned from prison.

The character we lovingly know as Dollar Bill struggled with all kinds of difficult emotions and hard truths yesterday, and Katie was a calming influence on him through it all. Could the hell Luna's putting them through possibly lead to a reunion between the ex-spouses?

What happened Wednesday on The Bold and the Beautiful

On Wednesday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Bill flat out admitted to Katie that he plans to murder Luna and make it look like an accident. His confession was somewhat of a shock, since he knows Katie would never be okay with him killing someone. It would have made more sense if he had secretly paid a hitman to kill Luna, or possibly if he had paid his right-hand man, Justin (Aaron D. Spears) to do it.

Katie talked Bill off the ledge, so to speak, and told him right off the bat that murder isn't the answer. "I think you're going to do our family more good out of prison than behind bars," she noted. It was great to see her take control of the situation, and there was more where that came from.

Bill admitted he was "tormented" that his mistake ended up hurting Will

Katie kept a calm head, despite her anger toward Luna. She showed inner strength and common sense as she mapped out the wise way for them to handle their problem. She made Bill realize he couldn't order Luna to get an abortion. After all, the unborn baby may be their grandchild. She said Luna will go to prison and after the baby is born, if the child really is Will's (Crew Morrow), then they will take custody of the baby and love him or her as a Spencer. They will protect the child from Luna. "We will get through this as a family," she quietly assured Bill. "The Spencer family."

We also admire her for pointing out to him, "We're lucky. We have the means to help our son through this." Thank you, Katie, for reminding Bill you are both wealthy and privileged, which are assets he likely takes for granted.

Bill was shaken up in a way we rarely see. "Thank you for trying to keep me from crossing the line," he told her. Don Diamont showed us Dollar Bill's vulnerable side, as Bill looked like a man in despair, a man confronted with a problem he honestly didn't know how to solve -- in spite of all his power and influence.

He tearfully admitted to Katie that he was tormented. He realized what his stupidity (in getting Luna pardoned) has done to Will and what it's cost him. By freeing Luna, Bill unwittingly put her in a position where she could hurt more people, and the person she ended up hurting was someone he loves -- his own son.

Will their united front as concerned parents lead Bill and Katie back to each other?

Don Diamont and Heather Tom are bringing us all the feels on The Bold and the Beautiful. We wouldn't be surprised if this Luna nightmare leads to an eventual reunion for Bill and Katie. The signs were all visible in yesterday's episode. Their united front as a family just may lead them down the path to love again. When this is all over, he is going to remember and appreciate her strength and support. Even though there was nothing romantic in their scenes, we felt the strength of their bond. Her words of comfort and assurance, his gratitude, the tears they both shed, and their embrace all felt like arrows pointing in the direction of a Batie reunion.

Frankly, it would serve us well if Brooke and Ridge went on a long honeymoon so we could spend more time on Bill and Katie's story. After all the years they've been divorced, will coming together as a family in their battle against Luna be the catalyst that ultimately brings Bill and Katie back together on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Katie's solution to their problem did raise a few questions, though. She said they will love and care for Luna's baby if the child turns out to be Will's. But who will be the primary caregiver? Does she figure Will is going to raise the baby? Also, how will the Spencers talk psychopathic Luna into giving up her rights to her child? Even though Luna's storyline has sure been frustrating, it will be interesting to see how this is all going to unfold and how those questions will be answered.
