What was Bill's mysterious phone call about on The Bold and the Beautiful?

The past few episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful have been filled with horrid shocks for the Spencer family. Their discovery that Luna (Lisa Yamada) is alive, that she raped Will (Crew Morrow), and that she is pregnant (supposedly with his child), has turned their lives upside down. We still don't know how Bill (Don Diamont) is going to get Luna out of their lives for good.

But what was up with Bill's mysterious phone conversation the other day? Does he have a trick up his sleeve to get rid of Luna?

What happened Monday on The Bold and the Beautiful

On Monday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, we saw Bill talk briefly to someone on the phone, telling the mystery person, "Not over the phone. This is something we have to discuss in person." Who was he talking to? Did he contact Justin (Aaron D. Spears), his friend and right-hand man, who once dumped Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) out of a helicopter and into the ocean upon Bill's command?

It feels like Bill has reached the end of his rope. He hollered at Luna, "Li should have left you to die and save me the trouble!" After she left to go upstairs and lie down, we got a good close-up shot of Bill with an eye-of-the-tiger look on his face, as though he's fully prepared to break out the big guns in order to take down Luna. Is this General Hospital we're watching? Because it feels like Bill is channeling GH's mob boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Some fans would like to see Bill kill Luna, since everyone else in L.A. thinks she's already dead anyway. It does seem odd that he won't bring her in to the police station, and what happened after the phone call seemed even weirder.

It seemed as though Katie was the person on the phone

When Katie (Heather Tom) walked through the door immediately afterward, it seemed as though she might have been the person Bill spoke to on the phone. But with all of Bill's money and power, it's more likely he called someone with prestige and influence to handle Luna.

But when he said he needed to keep Luna on lockdown and keep her existence a secret while he worked on a solution, that made us nervous. What if Luna escapes somehow and goes looking for Will, the object of her obsession? Bill shouldn't have given her the freedom to go upstairs. Why is he keeping it a secret that she's alive? Why won't he turn her over to the police and be rid of her, baby or no baby? As fans continue to point out, Luna can have the baby in prison. It seems like the solution is easy, and Bill is making this harder on himself than it needs to be.

Heather Tom is killing it as a worried, protective mother

Can we just take a moment to give Katie's portrayer, Heather Tom, a round of applause? This storyline is just taking off for the Spencers, and she is already knocking it out of the park. We've seen such a vast array of emotions cross her face -- heartbreak, worry, fear, anger, frustration -- you name it, we're seeing it. Parents feel their children's pain. We, in turn, feel Katie's pain because Luna violated her son and also because Will feels a misplaced sense of guilt. "Over what she did!" Katie raged, pointing upstairs to where Luna was resting.

Tom even gave us some amusing eye rolls last week when Luna was blissfully yammering on about how Bill and Katie were going to be grandparents. All of her gestures and expressions have been on point, and we can't wait to see more.

Whoever the mystery person was on the phone, will Bill tell Katie about the conversation? Does he have a sinister plan to rid his family of Luna, and will he share it with Katie?
