Days of our Lives' Bo Brady is a soap opera legend. Full stop. And Peter Reckell, the actor who has portrayed him on and off for the last 42 years, is just as legendary. It's been 10 years since we have seen Reckell interact with Hope and his family as the true Bo Brady, and he did not disappoint this past week.

The week began with Bo in his tough guy persona at a heavenly version of The Brady Pub, wondering where Steve and Kayla were. He instead saw his late son, Zack, behind the bar before Hope, Ciara, and Shawn appeared. They all begged a comatose Bo to return to the land of the living, where he belonged. Reckell showed us Bo's sheer frustration at trying to get back to his family for the last two years without success.

When he finally opened his eyes and uttered Fancy Face the way that only Reckell can, our hearts skipped a few beats, and we couldn't wait to see what came next.

Peter Reckell's tears brought us to tears

What came next was a tour de force of emotions that we never imagined. When Bo reunited with his two adult children and new grandchildren for the first time was enough to warm our hearts. However, when Bo learned about all the losses in Salem over the last two years, Reckell broke our hearts.

That tough guy hero persona faded away as the enormity of all Bo had missed became a reality. Two men he admired and loved so much, Victor and Doug, were now gone, and we watched Reckell's face crumble as he absorbed the information.

During the scenes between Bo and Hope, both Reckell and Kristian Alfonso brought us back decades with their natural chemistry, easy rapport, and knowledge of their characters. They both slipped right back into Bo and Hope's love story as if it hadn't been a decade since this kind of Bope goodness.

In the end, we also saw Reckell's joy at being back in Bo's skin. He has made it clear he wouldn't mind slipping into it again, so we hope to see more Reckell as Bo Brady in our Salem futures.
