Days of our Lives stars Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso are, arguably, the most popular, romantic couple in the history of soap operas. They recently stepped back into their roles for a highly sentimental episode, which touched our hearts, earning Soap Central's Performer of the Week honors in the process.
Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso, Performers of the Week, Days of our Lives

Reckell and Alfonso, as Bo and Hope, walked down memory lane as Bo continued to recover from his recent health problems. The actors hadn't worked regularly together in quite some time, but the two performers always restarted right where they left off. Their romantic chemistry is unparalleled.
Through the magic of flashbacks, we were reminded that Bo and Hope have been flung into fantastical stories that defy logic. Nearly a decade ago, Bo "died" in Hope's arms. Viewers thought that this was going to be it for the couple. Now, DAYS head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given viewers the "Bope" episode they've always wanted.
Reckell and Alfonso play Bo and Hope's love story so effortlessly, they make it look easy. DAYS did a deep dive into the flashback vault to find clips of Hope before Alfonso even took over the role to tug on our heartstrings. Bo and Hope looked back on numerous stories, including the puzzle box tale and others, in which they say so much to each other with just a look.
Happy DAYS

Hope put on a bit of a poker face, responding with the words "maybe" and "perhaps" after Bo proposed marriage to her. (The couple has always brought a playful, teasing element to their relationship.) She hastened to inform him, "You're the only man for me, Brady." He replied, "I damn well better be."
In the middle of the Horton living room, we witnessed Bo and Hope remarry each other. The show intercut the current union with another time they also married each other in a quiet and unofficial ceremony.
"I want to share my secrets, my hopes, my dreams with you," Bo professed in the present. "And I promise to respect and cherish you. I take you, Hope, to be my wife now and forever."
"I am so proud to stand beside you," Alfonso's Hope proclaimed. "I love you, Bo Brady...today, tomorrow, always."
As Bo and Hope sat in Horton Square, ready to take off, DAYS showed a highlights reel of the couple. Viewers were reminded of Reckell and Alfonso's acting range, showing them in various moments, mostly joyful ones, throughout the decades.
We saw the trauma they both played when Hope "died" after being trapped in Ernesto Tasco's cage, Hope stoically presenting Bo with divorce papers (boo!) and him passionately ripping them up (yay!), a tearful Hope and Bo comforting their son Zack (Garrett & Spencer Grey) as he died, and celebrating the birth of their daughter, Ciara (Dakoda & Danica Hobbs).
The episode served as the end of one chapter and the prelude to the couple's next adventure. "So long, Salem," Bo said. "Until next time," Hope added. DAYS fans are simply just happier knowing that Bo and Hope are out there in the world, happy and together. Bravo to both the show's creative team and to Alfonso and Reckell for this sentimental episode.
