Days of our Lives Spoilers, June 27: Johnny is arrested for attempted murder

After talking with Roman (Josh Taylor) and Marlena (Deidre Hall), Johnny (Carson Boatman) is relieved that the truth is finally out there. He did go to his father's house and wave a gun around, but he left without pulling the trigger and then put the gun in the planter outside the front door. Johnny was even thinking of going to the police with his story.

Too bad he also came up with a campaign slogan for Gabi Chic using the words, "You deserve it." That made Gabi (Cherie Jimenez)realize she had heard Johnny arguing with EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) that night, so she told Rafe (Galen Gering) all about it.

When Johnny and EJ have a positive encounter in Horton Town Square, they finally think that their relationship might be headed in the right direction for the first time in months. Sadly, Jada (Elia Cantu) ruins the moment when she approaches Johnny to arrest him for trying to kill his own father.

EJ had been doing everything he could to protect Johnny, and is surprised when he hears his son proclaim his innocence.

A devil's bargain

While Jada is making another public arrest, the last man she arrested in public has a talk with his victim. Xander (Paul Telfer) does feel bad about what he did to Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier), but that is still not an excuse for beating one's brother to within an inch of his life. Philip even feels bad for the forged letter and for ratting out Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), but he did what he had to do.

Now, Philip and Xander come to an agreement and understanding. Philip is still going to keep his mouth shut as promised, but does he get something else in this bargain, or does Xander just threaten him? Philip has been having a hard time getting anyone to believe his story, so he likely wants to make sure his lies get him something in return. Is Xander willing to do the right thing? If he is, he might have a better chance of winning the latest hospital board vote.
