Days of our Lives Spoilers, May 23: Hope holds out for her hero Bo Brady

What to expect on Days of our Lives

It's Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) 40th wedding anniversary as Hope sits by Bo's side, praying for a miracle. Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Hope hold Bo's hand before he is given last rites, but Shawn (Brandon Beemer) arrives in what may be the nick of time.

John returned, and his first stop was a mission to save Bo, but things went terribly wrong. There was an explosion and John was injured — or maybe even worse. While Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) gives Marlena (Deidre Hall) the bad news, Hope holds out for good news in Greece.

Expect to see flashbacks to that magical day on May 23, 1985, when 19-year-old Hope Williams married her "Brady" in a London cathedral. Bo made it to the church on time on the back of a milk truck to take his vows in a ceremony fit for royalty that was thrown by Queen Elizabeth II herself. Bo and Hope had just rescued the British royal family from a serial killer, so the queen was grateful.

It looks like there is a lot going on in comatose Bo's mind when his spirit pays a visit to The Brady Pub and watches Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla talk about him without realizing he is there and can hear them.

Bo sits down with Steve and Kayla, but it's like he is invisible. Bo only wants to be home with his friends and family. It's been a long time coming, as the last time he was happily in Salem was in 2015. Bo and Hope, as well as Days of our Lives fans, have been waiting for this happily-ever-after for a decade, but it will take a miracle for it to happen.

At Tom and Alice Horton's house, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) sits and waits for news about Bo, but she also takes action with prayer. Julie holds a photo of her beloved Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and clutches it to her chest as she prays that Doug is watching over his son-in-law.
