Days of our Lives Spoilers, September 11: Chanel's big idea stuns Johnny

Now that Johnny (Carson Boatman) is free and embarking on a new career as a college professor, Chanel (Raven Bowens) feels it's time they move on with their plans to become parents. They put the idea of adopting on hold when Johnny was going through emotional turmoil, but now Chanel is ready and has found the perfect baby to adopt.

Johnny is surprised when Chanel suggests they adopt the baby found at the firehouse that the Hernandez clan has been taking care of. Little do they know that they were originally slated to become parents to this child.

Javi (Al Calderon) also wants to adopt little Tesoro, but learned that will be easier said than done. Leo (Greg Rikaart) seems to be on the same page, but Leo might be the one who ruins things for them. After all, his colorful past is quite well known, and it won't be easy to be approved as adoptive parents. However, we might finally learn another secret from Javi's past that he hasn't yet revealed. Rafe (Galen Gering) seems to know, but Leo does not.

Brady (Eric Martsolf) has his hands full trying to figure out what really happened to Tate's (Leo Howard) baby while also being a support for Rachel (Alice Halsey). When Tate and Brady have a chat, something Tate says intrigues Brady, and he takes that information to Steve (Stephen Nichols).

Does he start to suspect that Tesoro just might be his grandson? Perhaps Sophia's (Rachel Boyd) reactions whenever Tesoro is around give Brady a clue.

Brady also has to tell Rachel that her mom will be in jail for six years. Does he mention it's only six years because he told the judge to give Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) more than three years? A distraught Rachel turns to Holly (Ashley Puzemis) for comfort.

Rachel tells Holly that she believes it's her fault that her mother is behind bars. She also doesn't feel that Kristen is the one who shot Uncle EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). Will Rachel remember the truth sooner rather than later? If so, Brady will owe Kristen a major apology.
