Days of our Lives Spoilers, September 3: College co-ed season begins in Salem

What to expect on Days of our Lives

It's move-in day at Salem University, and all our favorite freshmen insist on their parents paying for them to live in a dorm 10 minutes from home. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) say their goodbyes to Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Ariana (Marrisa Reyes). As soon as Mom and Grandma leave, the girls get busy.

Or at least Holly gets busy when Brady (Eric Martsolf) drops Tate (Leo Howard) off. Tate makes a beeline for Holly's room, where they christen her dorm bed. That causes Aaron (Louis Tomeo) and Ari to have to spend time together. They realize they are going to get to know each other better than ever before, since their roommates will be wanting a whole lot of alone time.

Where is Sophia (Rachel Boyd)? Is she still with Melinda (Tina Huang), freaking out that Tate will hate her when he learns she dropped their baby off at a firehouse and lied about the baby's sex? Is Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) forcing Sophia to live at home so she can keep an eye on her? Sophia's presence would complicate things for Tate and Holly in ways that they can't even imagine.

A big day for Marlena

Marlena (Deidre Hall) may have taken a leave of absence from the hospital, but that doesn't mean she is going to sit idle. Instead, she has agreed to keep seeing Xander (Paul Telfer) from home. Xander is determined to prove to Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that he can get his anger issues under control, so Marlena starts to delve deeper into what sets Xander off so easily.

Will Xander reveal what might be behind his violent temper? Is there past trauma that he needs to remember?

Marlena also shares warm moments with Tate and Brady before Tate moves out of her place and into the dorms. When she finally gets a few moments to herself, she picks up the latest book for the Salem Book Club. It is all about keeping calm, something Marlena has been finding hard to do lately — especially with the strange dreams she's been having.
