Days of our Lives Spoilers, September 9: Is Tony about to double-cross Gabi?

Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) had to think fast when Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Xander (Paul Telfer) accused her of planting that bug on Xander's desk. She managed to sweet-talk them both and throw them off her scent, but now worries that Tony (Thaao Penghlis) might try to renege on their deal. She didn't go through all of this with the Kiriakia brothers for a DiMera brother to screw her over.

However, it looks like that is exactly what Tony is going to do. When Gabi stops by the mansion to remind Tony of their arrangement, he still won't specifically acknowledge that she is to get the DiMera CEO position — and with good reason.

It looks like Tony summoned Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) home to offer him a proposition. When Theo appears at the DiMera mansion door, Tony welcomes his nephew with open arms. Is Tony about to offer a next-generation DiMera the spot instead? If so, he is going to have to deal with the wrath of Gabi.

Will Gabi end up double-crossing Tony and tell Philip and Xander what's been going on to try to beat Tony at his own game?

Chad's in the hot seat again

Chad (Billy Flynn) just had to deal with Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) coming down on him for growing close to Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and wanting to help her brother, Mark. Even EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) is surprised that Chad is willing to go to bat for a man who tried to kill him. However, EJ realizes that Chad's feelings for Cat run deep.

Now that Cat is working for EJ, he can see why his brother has taken a liking to Ms. Greene and questions Chad about where things are going with her. Since Chad has finally admitted to himself that he wants to get to know Cat better, will he admit it to EJ?

Neither of them has any idea that Cat is really an ISA agent who is working for EJ to gather evidence that can bring him down. That can put a snag in her relationship with Chad.
