Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow shares news of a deep, personal loss 

Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow, who plays Kate Roberts, is paying tribute to her dear brother, who recently passed away.

"I will miss you forever and a day, my beloved brother," Koslow posted on Instagram. "The world is a lesser place without you. No one could make me laugh like you - no one understood like you. Till we meet again. ❤️💔💔❤️‍🩹."

Koslow added to her touching post a poem titled "Don't Hesitate" by Mary Oliver. It reads:

"If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed.

"Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins.

"Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb."

Sincere sympathies

Koslow's co-stars and daytime pals reached out with words of sympathy. "So sorry, Lauren," shared Stephen Nichols (Steve). "I, too, experienced the loss of a sibling. The sweet memories keep her in my heart forever. Sending love to you and yours. ❤️."

"Sending love, my friend," posted Galen Gering (Rafe). Added Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel): "Sending you our heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family, Lauren. ❤️🙏."

"I’m so very sorry!" wrote Kate Linder (Esther, The Young and the Restless), who knows Koslow from her time as Lindsey Wells on Y&R. "My heart is with you and your family! Sending love!"

"Sending you so much love, girlfriend," Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) wrote. Added Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe): "I’m so very sorry for your loss, Lauren! Sending you ALL the love and hugs! ❤️🙏🕊️."

After runs as Y&R's Lindsey and Margo on The Bold and the Beautiful, Koslow joined the cast of DAYS in 1996 as Kate Roberts, Victor's (John Aniston) wife. She has remained on the show ever since.
