Thomas (Cary Christopher) has been mentioned on Days of Our Lives recently, but hasn’t been seen much. Whether it’s due to a lack of story is up for debate, but make no mistake, Christopher keeps quite busy outside of the show. He appeared in a Super Bowl commercial in February 2024 with actor Chris Pratt and was in the horror flick Weapons with Josh Brolin, which is set to release in August. Now he’s been attached to yet another project, as the little guy continues to stay busy as a working actor.
A poignant faith-based drama

Deadline reported that Days of Our Lives star Cary Christopher will be joining the cast of a new Amazon TV series called It’s Not Like That. It’s a faith-based show that also stars Scott Foley (True Blood) as Malcolm, Erinn Hayes (Bill & Ted Face the Music) as Lori, and Caleb Baumann (Doom Patrol) as Merritt. The show was created by Ian Deitchman, whose list of producing credits includes Suits, Kristin Rusk Robinson, who has worked with Deitchman before on Suits, and Ordinary Joe. The duo will co-produce It’s Not Like That as well.
According to the outlet, the new show “follows Lori (Hayes), who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm’s a minister and recently widowed dad of three. Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood, and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Is this the beginning of a love story? It’s not like that. Or is it?”
He’s got a lot on his plate

Christopher plays Malcolm’s son Justin, with Leven Miranda and Cassidy Paul playing his siblings, Flora and Penelope. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the pilot will be directed by Brad Silberling, who directed 1995’s Casper and A Series of Unfortunate Events in 2004. Weapons was Christopher’s first feature film role, and he’s also going to be appearing in the Amazon production, Spider-Noir. In that, he’s joining fan favorite actor Nicholas Cage, who voices Spider-Man Noir in it. The young actor has also appeared on several TV shows, including The Rookie, Station 19, and American Horror Story, among others.
With the announcement that Billy Flynn will be exiting his role as Thomas’ father, Chad, it’s uncertain how he will leave and how it will affect his kids, Thomas and Charlotte. Considering that young Christopher seems to be in demand as an actor, the show would be remiss if it didn’t keep him on. Perhaps the children on the show could be put together in a summer, pre-teen adventure.
Days of Our Lives can be found on the Peacock app.
