Days of our Lives star Alison Sweeney shared on social media that she is back filming as Sami Brady, who was last seen ditching E.J. (Dan Feuerriegel) and running off with Lucas (Bryan Dattilo).

Days of our Lives is once again bringing Alison Sweeney back to the canvas, and boy, is there going to be a lot of drama this time around!

As fans recall, Sweeney was last seen on the screen in early January, when Sami found out that E.J. (Dan Fuerriegel) had been responsible for her kidnapping, so, she kicked him to the curb and ran out of town with her other flame, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Unfortunately, she had no idea that Lucas was the one who had orchestrated her kidnapping all along! E.J. is now rotting away in prison for a crime he didn't commit... and well, let's just say there's going to be hell to pay once the real story gets out.

Though Sweeney hasn't revealed anything about the material that brings her back to the canvas, the actress did confirm her return in an Instagram Stories post that gave fans a quick, behind-the-scenes glimpse of her and Sami's nemesis, Nicole (Arianne Zucker), getting their hair and makeup done at the NBC soap opera.

Sadly, Sweeney's return to Salem will no doubt be another short one. Back in December, the actress said she has no plans to step back into Sami's shoes permanently.

"I love playing Sami but no, full-time is not the plan for me," she revealed, adding that she values the freedom to do other projects that being on contract at DAYS wouldn't allow. "The opportunity to go back to DAYS, it feels like going home again, to be honest with you. It's like visiting my family during the holidays. I get to see everyone. I get to play Sami. I get to go home. But then I get to go out and develop these projects and do other things, and expand myself, and push myself."

How do you feel about Alison Sweeney once again returning to DAYS? How would you like to see the Sami, Lucas, and E.J. situation play out?
