With just a little over a month to go, the stage is now set for television's biggest night. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmys.
KRISTOS ANDREWSWTF!!!!! A little too high on life right now to put words together but alright I'll focus!!! Genuinely, this feeling is so encouraging on this often-deemed unconventional path. To be honest, it's less important to me to talk about my own effort and methods than it is to take a moment to attribute these nominations to the talented and hard-working people I've been fortunate enough to work with and be surrounded by. It takes a strong team unit for an actor to center themselves in a place where they can truly give their best toward executing a performance, and there's no way I can truly verbalize how grateful and excited I am for the recognition to come from two different shows this year. I'm eternally grateful, humbled, honored, and blissful. Thank you to all the judges who've appreciated my work, it means the world to have your confidence. I thank the entire talented and hard-working team of THE BAY, especially our spearhead Gregori J. Martin; essentially my big brother and a truly remarkable talent to work with. I thank the entire THIS JUST IN team and the lovely McKenzie family for their diligence and faith they've shown in me by giving me the opportunity to perform in an entirely different medium. I thank Celeste and my family for believing in me unwaveringly. I accredit those I'm surrounded by for my nominations today, and I feel more energized than ever to continue treading forth on this journey.PATRIKA DARBO:My first re-action was..."nominated?"..."for what"? I knew I had been submitted and received a nom for the ISA's. I voted during pre-lims for Guest Performer. My name wasn't there, well of course it wasn't. I couldn't judge myself!!! There are so many wonderful performances and I assumed I wasn't in the running. To hear I got a nom was surprising and exciting. I think it's always wonderful and humbling to be acknowledged by your Peers. Grateful to Gregori and everyone at The Bay. Thrilled to be included with all these other talented performers in our category.KIRA REED LORSCH"I am thrilled to be nominated for an Emmy for acting! I'm incredibly fortunate to be part of the wonderful show that is THE BAY. I am grateful to Gregori J. Martin for believing in me and creating my savvy, sexy, vixen character JO CONNERS. It's been an honor to work with legendary executive producer Wendy Riche, the incredible writing team, and all of the super talented actors on the series."GREGORI J. MARTINWe're in the middle of production on a new series and the week the nominations came out we had all night shoots, so I got home from set at 7am and should have been sleeping but I just couldn't, wondering if we'd be nominated again. I knew how fierce the competition was this year with so many wonderful shows, that I didn't know what to expect. When the nominations were scheduled to be announced I began googling to find the results and saw "15 Nominations... The Bay the Series" but didn't believe it, so I kept searching. Then I get a call from one of my business partners, Carol (Hedgepeth) and she confirms it's true. I was in utter shock and unbelievably grateful. I quickly informed Kristos (Andrews), who on top of receiving a producer nomination for The Bay, also received 2 actor nominations, 1 for The Bay, and the other for our family show, This Just In, on Pop TV. It's been a whirlwind ever since and we are filled with so much gratitude. I'm still on cloud 9 and beyond appreciative.WENDY RICHEI am so honored to be part of Gregori Martin's team of incredibly talented people who deserve all the nominations and recognition formaking THE BAY the EMMY AWARD WINNING Drama that it continues to be. Congratulations to Gregori and The Bay Family!MARY BETH EVANSThis is such an exciting time for all of us at The Bay! This year is so wonderful because they added the supporting and guest star categories. We have so many talented people on this show along with the writing and directing. It is so wonderful for so many to be honored by the nominations!JADE HARLOWMy reaction was, "What?! No way... Seriously? (Squeal with delight) Thank you, God!!!" Then, I took a look at the whole list of nominees from our Bay Family and proceeded to text them all like crazy with congratulatory joy. I'm quite honored... not only by the nomination in itself but to share the nomination (in my category) with so many girlfriends that I love, just makes it all a little extra special."Everyone at LOTL is so grateful and humbled by our Emmy nomination. We have been so busy with post production on the new season that a validation like this from our peers felt really amazing. Nothing was more gratifying than being able to call Ken Corday to tell him that the show had been nominated for Outstanding Digital Drama. He has been so generous and supportive throughout this entire process that it was nice to make that call. Everyone in front of the camera, and behind the scenes really poured their hearts into the first season. It was a great learning experience which taught us valuable lessons moving towards season 2. It really does take a team of passionate people to put something like this together and I couldn't be prouder, because a show nomination encompasses the work of EVERYONE involved in bringing a story to life, and therefore everyone gets a chance to shine because without them this wouldn't be possible."
