The 1999 classic film 10 Things I Hate About You was filmed primarily in two locations in Washington State in United States, that is, Seattle and Tacoma.
The film has been helmed by Gil Junger, which explores the story of a group of teens who navigate love. It all begins when Bianca, who is only allowed to date someone under a condition, that is, if her sister Kat is dating someone. In order to make that happen, Bianca's lover Cameron sets Kat up with his friend, Patrick.

Located in the US Pacific Northwest, some of the film's iconic scenes have been shot in some of the popular places across Seattle and Tacoma. For the most part, Seattle has been widely filmed, along with some parts from Tacoma.
The filming took place in the year 1998, spanning up to two months. It commenced on 8th June and concluded on 6th August.
1) Gas Works Park, Seattle

This well-known park of Seattle has been used to shoot some very pivotal scenes of the film, which include the paintball scene of Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger's characters- Kat and Patrick. The location was also used in the scene where Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Larisa Oleynik's characters, Cameron and Bianca, plan to bring Kat and Patrick together.
Spanning across a distance of 19.1 acres, Gas Works Park is a spacious area where a lot of possibilities for outdoor scenes can be explored.
2) Paramount Theatre, Downtown Seattle
The iconic Paramount Theatre in Downtown Seattle has been utilised to film the prom scene. The space is suggested to be a part of the school, as in the story, the prom takes place in the school premises.
It is the scene where Kat, after learning that Patrick has been given money to date her, gets away from him since she feels that he likes her only for the fact that he has been hired for that.
3) Lake Union, Seattle
In one of the scenes, Kat and Patrick go on a date on a lake, paddling on a boat. This famous freshwater lake in Seattle has been used to shoot the scene.
Seattle's picturesque view can be seen from the horizon of the lake, which looks perfect as a date scene, as shown in the film.
4) Stadium High School, Tacoma
The school in which the lead characters go to, Padua High School, has been filmed at Stadium High School, Tacoma.
This school serves as a historical location, having been in existence since the year 1906. Different locations across the classical architecture have been shot to show various scenes from the school.
One of the most iconic scenes of the film was shot in this location. It is the scene where Patrick, in order to earn Kat's affection, sings the celebrated romantic number of Frankie Valli 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' to Kat.
5) 2715 North Junett Street, Tacoma

The residence of Kat and Bianca has been shot in this location. The house, which has been in existence since 1907, is built in the Victorian style of architecture.
The ornate interiors of the house work perfectly well as a choice for the Stratford sisters' residence. The area of the property, as per Zillow, expands up to a distance of 10,201 sqft feet.
