5 Henry Cavill movies that totally negate his Superman avatar

The news of Henry Cavill's departure as the Man of Steel was a steel knife to the heart. Then we got David Corenswet as the new Superman in James Gunn's colorful DC Universe. But that's okay. Cavill's flight was a good one while it lasted. And then we got Jack Snyder's version of Justice League. It was a treat.

This is nostalgic. It will remain like this. But it's not just the role of the DC superhero he nailed. Throughout his career, he had portrayed characters that are totally different from this one, but still stir the soul. We are about to see a few of them.

He began his career with 2001's Laguna, and after 24 years and 26 feature films, he is one actor whose crowds flock into theaters to see. It's not just films, though. His portrayal of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher is widely praised. Though we won't be including it here, as we will be focusing on movies only.

Henry Cavill as... not the Man of Steel

5. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

He is Napoleon Solo, the fictional character brought to the 21st century from the '60s show, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The film carries the name alongside the character from the show. Solo is a spy who needs to join hands with KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer), though reluctantly. They are to find a scientist's daughter, and failure to do so may result in a global catastrophe.

4. Argylle (2024)

He is a fictional character in a fictional story of a film. Bryce Dallas Howard is the lead, playing Elly Conway, who is a writer finishing a book. You will see him doing boogie in the film as the story unfolds, which actually turns out to be associated with the real world. Elly and Argylle are connected in a way that is enough to blow your mind.

3. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024)

Superman can be one madman whom even the Justice League failed to stop at one point. But when he is put beside Gus March-Phillipps from Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the superhero will be like one innocent child. And not just the character, it's the entire team in the Guy Ritchie film that gives us some of those Harley Quinn vibes.

2. Deadpool & Wolverine

Okay, this was a tough one. We either had to put the legendary Cavillrine from Deadpool & Wolverine or August Walker from Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018). We chose this despite the fact that this, too, is one superhero role. However, in no way is this version of Wolverine similar to Superman from DC. Just look at the way he looks. Even though this was a cameo, it was a cameo that stole the entire movie. Let's hope to see him popping up in Doomsday or Secret Wars.

1. Enola Holmes

And finally, we give you one super-classy role Henry Cavill has played: Sherlock Holmes. Though when it comes to this name in films or series, it's either Robert Downey Jr. or Benedict Cumberbatch who first comes to our minds. But he brought us a different side of the iconic character as he plays a pivotal role as a brother to Millie Bobbie Brown's Enola Holmes.
