Henry William Dalgleish Cavill, better known as Henry Cavill, is a British actor renowned for his portrayal of Superman in the DC Extended Universe and Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix fantasy series “The Witcher.”


Cavill's first roles were in the movie adaptations of I Capture the Castle and The Count of Monte Cristo. He appeared in many television shows in supporting roles. In 2012, Cavill was named one of the 50 best-dressed British men by GQ. British Glamour magazine dubbed him the "World's Sexiest Man" in December 2013. He was ranked third on Empire magazine's list of "The 100 Sexiest Movie Stars 2013" that same year. Cavill was named the face of the British fragrance Dunhill at the beginning of 2008. He made two appearances in the brand's TV ads.

On January 30, 2011, Cavill was revealed to play Superman/Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Cavill played Superman again in the 2016 follow-up Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which included a crossover between Batman and Wonder Woman. Cavill made a comeback as Superman in the 2017 Justice League movie. He also appeared in the director's cut of the movie, Zack Snyder's Justice League, which debuted in March 2021 on HBO Max.
