Taylor Swift released her newest album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on October 3, 2025. In one of her tracks, Ruin The Friendship, the singer gives a shoutout to 50 Cent, singing:
"Have fun, it's prom / Wilted corsage dangles from my wrist / Over his shoulder I catch a glimpse / And see...You looking at me / And it was not an invitation / But as the 50 Cent song played / Should've kissed you anyway."
Now, 50 Cent has taken to social media to show his love for Taylor Swift's new album. The singer called himself a Swiftie (the term used to describe Taylor Swift fans) after hearing about his shoutout. 50 Cent showed his love for the album via a post on his official Instagram page on October 4, 2025, asking his fan community to check out the album as well:
"I’m low key a swiftie over here I like this album check it out ! @50centaction."
Taylor Swift mentions 'Abigail' as well as 50 Cent on Ruin The Friendship
Alongside 50 Cent, Taylor Swift mentions her friend Abigail in the track. The singer is informed about the death of a friend, which the track is about, by Abigail:
"Abigail called me with the bad news /Goodbye /And we’ll never know why / It was not an invitation/ But I flew home anyway / With so much left to say/ It was not convenient, no/ But I whispered at the grave/ Should’ve kissed you anyway."
While there is no official word about who the track is about, online speculation points to Jeff Lang, whom she called one of her best friends just after his funeral, which she attended in 2010. The singer further talks about the track in her album film, Official Release Party of a Showgirl film:
"It would’ve been fine to take chances I didn’t take [on love]. I was so disciplined in high school. It’s very wistful and very nostalgic."
