Scarlett Johansson, David Koepp, Gareth Edwards, and more were present at the Jurassic World Rebirth's world premiere in central London. The seventh film in the Jurassic Park franchise will hit the theaters in a couple of weeks, and it looks like it is taking the fans on a nostalgic roller coaster ride.

While at the premiere, Scarlett Johansson says of the film, according to Variety, that:

"So I think it really is a love letter to Steven’s work. Fans of the Jurassic universe can expect to really feel the DNA of the original ‘Jurassic Park’ in this film."

She plays Zora Bennett, a covert operation expert leading a team whose mission is to collect samples from three of the biggest dinosaurs, which are said to be used for medical research to create some revolutionary medicine later. With the new cast come new dinosaurs too, including mutated ones like Mutadons and Distortus Rex.

This idea for the Jurassic World Rebirth plot came to the film's writer, David Koepp, when he was researching dinosaurs. He discovered a few who have unusually long lifespans with low chances of having heart disease, and that their DNA could be the key to better human lives.

Other than Johansson, the film also stars Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, and more. While we have an entirely new ensemble cast, it is unlikely that we will see the original members of the franchise in this one.

That was Koepp's plan for Jurassic World Rebirth

Last year, Koepp spoke with Empire magazine, sharing that he wanted the film to bring back the fun the original one gave to its fans. He said:

"It goes back to what I loved about the original. with an embarrassment of riches of different set-piece-type scenarios and tense, fun action moments. There were a lot of opportunities as a filmmaker to have a lot of fun and try and play games with the audience."

Comparing this to what Scarlett Johansson said about Jurassic World Rebirth, it sounds like Koepp's plan succeeded. Now it is time for the audience's reaction to confirm this, but that will happen post-July 2, 2025, the date of its release.

For filming it, they had to do that in Thailand, much like the original ones, which Steven Spielberg did in Hawaii. It was a real danger in itself, as Jonathan Bailey told Empire Magazine. Snakes were swimming past them.

Koepp wanted to shift the theme away from "dinosaurs in a human world" to "humans in a dinosaur world." In Jurassic World films, we see a sudden shift from Jurassic Park films, as dinosaurs have become for tourist attraction.

By the end of the Jurassic World trilogy, this land-sharing went to extremes, and now dinosaurs roam freely on the earth, side-by-side with humans. Currently, Jurassic World Dominion, the final film in the trilogy, is the worst movie in the franchise to date, with a Tomatometer score of 29% at Rotten Tomatoes. However, fans did like it if we go by RT's Popcornmeter, which shows a 77% score.
