The release date of the much-awaited sequel in the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, has been rescheduled multiple times so far. However, a recent update from one of the actors involved in the project, Greta Lee, has brought back some faith in the audience about a release soon enough.
Greta Lee, in a recent conversation with ScreenRant, spoke about her experience working as a voice actor in the Spider-Verse movies, and she shared how she had a lot of fun while recording her parts.
Lee plays the role of Spider-Man 2099's AI assistant, Lyla, and has been seen in previous movies as well.

Greta Lee spoke about how much she enjoyed voicing the character of Lyla in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
During a recent interview, Greta Lee opened up about her experience voicing the character of Lyla in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. She said,
"I love being a part of that, and getting to do voice work with the guys... It’s a wonderful mix of all the things that I love. It’s comedic, the world of it is so rich, and the writing is so good. It’s so fun to record."
Lee's interview also revealed that the filming of Beyond the Spiderverse is further along than fans anticipated, meaning they can still stick to the latest release date announced. Beyond the Spider-Verse was initially slated for a March 2024 release date, after which it got pushed back to June 4, 2027. Now, the final release date has been slated as June 25, 2027, and there have been no further delays as of now.
Interestingly, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse were initially supposed to be one singular film, but since the split took place, the release date got pushed back. Now, since Lee's character, Lyla, is a supporting character, it is possible that she recorded her parts for both at the same time, since her lines would not be heavily impacted by rewriting.
However, the leading characters may have had to revoice their lines.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ends with Shameik Moore's Miles Morales captured and stranded in an alternate universe. It is at this nail-biting cliffhanger that the events of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will take place.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to hit theatres on June 25, 2027, as of now.
