Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story had its early screenings back in April 2025 at the Overlook Film Festival. The plot has taken inspiration from Joe Hill's 2005 short story (first released in the UK), going by the same (two years later it was published in the United States). As per ScreenRant, helmer Natasha Kermani had reportedly mentioned in an earlier statement that she "was very excited" about going back to "the 1951" while framing the plot:

"It's just such a strange time to see on camera, but a really cool period. I loved that idea of seeing that transitional time between the old world of Dracula and our modern one," she said.

The plot of Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story centers on Abraham's two sons, Rudy and Max, whose lives are mostly directed by their father's choices. Abraham wanted to keep his troubled, dark past (his connections with Dracula) away from his children and thus moved with his family to America, living somewhere amidst the California desert.

But as it appears, the demons have eventually tracked him and his close ones down. The lines delivered by Titus Welliver's character in the trailer of Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story pretty much sum up the plot:

"The world is getting smaller, closing in on us. But I will always do what is best for our family."

As per ScreenRant, Kermain has further explained Mina Van Helsing's (portrayed by Jocelin Donahue) character arc, saying that she has a pivotal role to play in the plot (especially when it comes to the initial buildup stories of the two sons). The director continued saying that Mina has "a telepathic connection" to "the Count," and she has thus been trapped somewhere in the middle for almost two decades

However, while discussing the character arc of Max Van Helsing, Kermani had reportedly mentioned that it sees a gradual shift from being obedient to following in his father's footsteps. To quote her exact words:

"Max's character starts from a place of obedience but slowly moves away from that. That's also the audience's experience... The idea of this mythological Zeus, and the son replacing father as the broad strokes of it, with the specifics of Dracula."
