Recently, over the weekend, the house of Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Johnson, who spent 12 seasons with the Houston Texans, was burglarized, according to reports by Click2Houston.
Reports also suggest that several sentimental memorabilia items related to Johnson’s NFL career were stolen. On Sunday, July 27, 2025, rapper Marcus Lakee Edwards, also known as Lil Keke, took to social media, calling on the Houston community to help recover the stolen items. In the video, he stressed that the stolen items represented Johnson’s legacy, work, and dedication.
Andre was one of the NFL's most productive wide receivers of his era, and also a seven-time NFL Pro Bowler.
What did the rapper Lil Keke say about the burglary at Andre Johnson's house
On Sunday, the rapper took to his Instagram and urged the people of Houston to come forward to help in recovering the stolen items from Andre's house. In the video, he said:
''Andre Johnson is my brother. He's the first Houston Texan Hall of Famer. He dedicated his life here, his career here, and also he resides here as a Houstonian—that makes it much, much more important. Man we family and this is a family message.''
He continued:
''Over the weekend somebody broke into my brother's home, took some items that represent his legacy, represent his dedication, his hard work, his family. We need to recover that and get that back. Let's come together as a Houston family, and put our ears to the street, put our nose to the ground, and find out who got these items and let's recover and get them back to our brother.''
Johnson is widely recognized for his on-field dominance, his quiet leadership, and his community involvement. Some of his widely recognised achievements include his 14-season NFL career, primarily with the Houston Texans, where he became one of the most dominant wide receivers.
He was also the all-time franchise leader for the Texans in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Statistically, he recorded 1,062 receptions, 14,185 receiving yards, and 70 touchdowns. In 2024, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, becoming the first Houston Texan ever to receive that honor. He officially retired from the NFL in October 2016 and is, to date, known for his charity work in the Houston community.
The local authorities have confirmed the burglary, and an investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made so far. As per reports, along with several personal and meaningful football-related items, some jewelry was also taken.
