Popular American actress Lori Loughlin has separated from her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, after 28 years of marriage. The news was confirmed by People magazine in an exclusive report published on Tuesday, October 2, 2025.
Elizabeth Much, representative of Lori Loughlin, told the publication that the couple is no longer living together. She added that while they haven't taken legal steps, they are taking a break from their marriage.
“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time.”
It was not specified what caused the separation or the duration of the couple's estrangement.
Lori Loughlin’s first marriage was to investment banker Michael R. Burns. They got married in 1989 but divorced after seven years in 1996. The Full House actress eloped with fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli on Thanksgiving of the following year.
The two married in 1997 and have two daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade. Lori became the stepmother of Mossimo's son, Gianni, from his previous marriage.

On March 12, 2019, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli were indicted by the FBI for fraud and bribery offenses, following a nationwide college bribery scandal. The couple surrendered themselves to the authorities the following day.
In 2020, the couple was found guilty after Lori pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Mossimo pleaded guilty to one count of honest services wire and mail fraud. Lori was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, while her husband received a five-month sentence.
In a 2024 interview with First for Women Magazine, Lori Loughlin discussed forgiveness and learning to move forward.
“I try to be a forgiving person. I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone. We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness, but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too.”
She added that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. However, it was important to learn how to let go and move on from them.
“No one is perfect; we all make mistakes. So I was always told to let stuff go. And I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
