On July 31, 2025, the Buckingham Palace guards paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. In their traditional red and black attire, the Coldstream Guards band played Paranoid, a song from Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath band.
Ozzy Osbourne, regarded as one of the pioneers of heavy metal music, passed away on July 22, 2025. His family shared the devastating news in a statement:
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
They added:
"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family's privacy at this time."
Since the news of his passing, dignitaries, public figures, and some of music’s finest have mourned the loss of the Prince of Darkness. On July 30, 2025, Fans lined the streets to watch as the hearse bearing Ozzy’s body made its final trek through Broad Street in Birmingham, his hometown.
Hundreds of flowers and artwork were left by fans at the Black Sabbath Bridge bench on Broad Street to pay homage to the late frontman of the band. Elsewhere, the Buckingham Palace guards paid their respects to Ozzy. A video shared by @about.London on TikTok showed the moment.
