The Athletic reported that Christian Coleman and Sha'Carri Richardson were involved in a "heated argument", with the latter allegedly repeatedly shoving the former. Coleman has reportedly defended his partner and noted that her arrest was inevitable at the time. He noted,

“People have discussions and emotions and stuff like that. Does she have things that she needs to work on for herself? Of course. But so do I. So do you. So does everybody. And I’m a type of guy, I’m in the business of extending grace and mercy and love."

He added,

"I just look at situations like this to take a step back, analyze yourself mentally, and then just try to see what you could do to be your best self so that you can move forward.”

Coleman has reportedly joined Star Athletics, which makes Richardson his teammate. He emphasised her humanness and described her as a "great person." He added,

"I feel like we’ve been able to be really good teammates like all year. … And she’s, to me, the best female athlete in the world. I see it every day.”

The USA Track and Field team revealed they are "aware" of the situation but have decided not to comment.

In other news, the BBC revealed Sha'Carri Richardson missed a spot at the "US Track and Field Championships" in the 200m sprint. Coleman came in support of his partner, following her arrest, and explained that she has many "things going on", many of which he can't understand. However, he hopes for her to bounce back and looks forward to his athletic journey with her.
