Bride Hard: Release date news, cast details and more about the upcoming comedy film by Simon West

The Expendables 2 helmer Simon West is making his big screen return in the upcoming comedy film starring Rebel Wilson titled Bride Hard this June. With a screenplay from Shaina Steinberg, the movie has been produced by Max Osswald, Joel David Moore, Cassia Elwes, Jason Ross Jallet, and Colleen Camp.

The plot revolves around a secret agent and how she, using her skills, saves the day at one of her best friends' weddings that has been crashed by mercenaries. The film's official synopsis, as per IMDb, reads:

"When a mercenary group takes a lavish wedding hostage, they have no idea what they are in for as the Maid of Honor is actually a secret agent ready to rain hell-fire upon anyone who would ruin her best friend's wedding."

When will Bride Hard be released?

Bride Hard is gearing up for a theatrical premiere in the United States on June 20, 2025. Magenta Light Studios currently holds distribution rights in the country, while in the UK, Signature Entertainment is taking over the same. Filming reportedly took place in different parts of Savannah, Georgia.

What do we know about the plot of Bride Hard?

Bride Hard is the perfect blend of comedy and action in a big fat wedding set up. Sam (played by Rebel Wilson)'s best friend (portrayed by Anna Camp) is getting married, and she has been asked to be the Maid of Honor.

However, she is not the perfect person to take up such responsibilities. There is another side to Sam's story — she works as a secret agent in an organization and attends her friend's big day, treading very carefully (so that she doesn't get her cover blown).

Ironically, a bunch of mercenaries turn up at the wedding with arms and take everyone present there hostage. Panic spreads out, and amidst all the confusion, the responsibility of saving the day falls on Sam (given her background).

She also sees it as the best chance to get back in the good books of her friends (who had demoted her to bridesmaid duty because of her casual approach). As tension rises, Sam fights her way through the bad men while also trying not to spoil the glamorous wedding decoration.

Soon she realizes her purpose of being at the wedding. Sam is not just there to see her best friend getting married, but also to protect the helpless people who have no idea about how to save themselves from the armed men — destiny brought her there.

Will her heroic act turn out to be a savior? Will her friends get back on good terms with her? All the answers lie on the other side.
