Diane Keaton's family reveals cause of death and encourages fans to honor her through charity donations

Diane Keaton's family has released a statement to People magazine revealing the cause of her death. As per the reported statement, Keaton died of pneumonia on October 11. The statement further thanked her fans for the support, stating:

"The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11"

The statement also encouraged donations to local food banks or animal shelters in her memory, stating:

"She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her."

As of now, her two children, Dexter and Duke, have not released any public statements on social media regarding their mother’s passing.


Diane Keaton loved doing charity

In a statement made by Yeastie Boys Bagel owner Evan J. Fox to The Daily Mail, he said:

"Diane was at the charity events herself, feeding the unhoused herself as well as coming on the trucks to help myself and our staff hand out food and take pictures with us"

He said that Diane was always kind and thankful, and it was she who truly led and organized everything while he was there to support her efforts. Her efforts supported The People Concern, a non-profit providing housing in Los Angeles County.

Remembering Keaton, The People Concern wrote on Instagram on October 15:

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Diane Keaton. Diane was a generous supporter and a cherished friend of The People Concern. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of countless people we serve. From hosting thoughtful events to uplifting our holiday initiatives, she consistently showed up with care and authenticity."

As for her career, Diane last appeared in the 2024 movie Summer Champ. She had three upcoming projects lined up, which include The Making Of, Constance, and Artist In Residence. The release date of any of these projects hasn't been confirmed so far. Keaton was also working as an executive producer on Constance, according to IMDb.
