Did Sami Sheen hint at Denise Richards’ divorce by calling out ‘toxic’ relationships?

On July 6, 2025, a day before her stepdad, Aaron Phypers, and mom, Denise Richards, announced their divorce, Sami Sheen posted a TikTok video advising followers on how to cut off unhealthy relationships. The 21-year-old online personality, whilst emphasizing that it was never too late to leave a toxic partner, seemingly hinted about the breakdown of her mother, Denise Richards' marriage when she stated:

“You need to ask yourself, if you had a daughter and she was dating a man like this, what would you tell her?” she asked. “And then boom, you’re like, OK, I would tell her to break up with him, I would tell her to block him, move on, he’s a piece of s–t, he treats her like s–t, and that works for me.”

Sami Sheen also talked about how easy it can be to turn a blind eye to an unhealthy relationship and responded to a post by a TikTok user asking:

“What if you married one?”

Sheen replied,” It’s never too late to leave.”

Sami Sheen, in her July 6, 2025, TikTok post advised viewers who were in unhealthy relationships to imagine their friends and loved ones in their shoes and think of the advice they’d offer if roles were reversed.

“Imagine your friend in this situation or your mom or your sibling. Picturing someone else in your exact situation and if they came to you being like, ‘Hey, my boyfriend is doing X, Y, and Z to me,’ you need to tell them what to do then there’s your answer,”

Sami Sheen seemed to imply that she had experienced such relationships, stating:

"And I understand more than anyone, it’s so hard and almost feels impossible sometimes to get out of a toxic relationship and the judgment from people when you keep going back to that person — it’s a whole cycle,”

Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers began dating in June 2017 and, got married in Malibu in September the following year. Richards was previously married to Charlie Sheen with whom she shares daughters Sami and Lola Sheen. Richards and Phypers’ relationship was documented on the Bravo reality show. Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences.
