Gospel music artist Patrick Riddick was reportedly arrested on two charges of sodomy and r*pe by force or victim helplessness on October 20, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. The victim(s) purportedly had “mental incapacity or helplessness.” The alleged arrest claim has surfaced on YouTube and has now gone viral.
While it remains unclear whether Patrick Riddick, 48, is married, he has one child, a daughter named Madelynn Noelle.
The alleged incidents occurred a month earlier, on September 18, according to what appears to be an inmate search page on the Norfolk Sheriff’s official website, shared by YouTuber Official King Jives Show on Wednesday. He was reportedly booked into Norfolk County Jail.
The YouTuber also claimed that the supposed victim of Patrick Riddick was an unidentified woman who attends NSU, adding that the gospel singer’s home wasn’t far from the college campus. It is noteworthy that there hasn’t been any official confirmation about Patrick’s recent arrest or s*x crime charges.
Exploring the life and career of Patrick Riddick
Patrick Riddick was born in November 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia. When he was 4 years old, his grandmother’s gospel records inspired him to sit in front of a piano and explore music. Although he initially wanted to pursue R&B, he returned to gospel music as a teenager.
According to thep.com, Riddick graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal music from Norfolk State University, before pursuing his master’s degree in executive leadership at Liberty University’s School of Business.
While at NSU, Patrick was appointed director of the Voices of Inspiration Gospel Choir and served in that role for over a decade. He obtained his preaching license in 2002 and became the worship pastor at a church in the Hampton Roads region, Virginia.
While Patrick Riddick is a “true gospel choirmaster,” he is also recognized for his exceptional abilities in gospel singing, songwriting, arranging, and producing. Over the years, he has worked with various gospel artists, including recordings and workshops with Minister Ricky Dillar and his Grammy-nominated choir, New Generation Chorale, based in Chicago. Riddick serves as Dillar’s assistant director in the Stellar Award-winning choir.
The ‘Prince of Choirs’ also served as the gospel choir director on the Netflix documentary series, Voices of Fire, which premiered in November 2020.
Patrick is the founder and conductor of his national recording choir, D’Vyne Worship, which he often describes as a “family affair.” The 50-plus choir, founded in 2000, performs gospel music, anthems, and other contemporary songs and has been recognized by the Stellar Awards as well as the Billboard Music charts.
On his social media, Riddick often talks about his mother and sister, sharing childhood pictures with them. His daughter, Madelynn Noelle, 9, also appears frequently on Instagram.
For instance, in 2018, the gospel artist and minister shared an image of Madelynn and a woman, seemingly the baby’s mother, and mentioned that it was the 2-year-old’s “first school Christmas program.”
Patrick Riddick also has other credentials to his name, including Virginia 2nd Jurisdiction’s State Minister of Music COGIC, Virginia 2nd Jurisdiction’s AIM Vice-Chairman, Quorum of Directors for the International Music Department COGIC, Department Cantor for the International Department of Evangelism COGIC, Music Coordinator for the International Men's Department COGIC, and a member of the Contemporary Adult Division Board of GMWA.
Currently, he is a signed artist with Hez House Entertainment, a gospel music label owned by the Grammy-winning Bishop Hezekiah Walker. The father of one also serves regularly as a guest conductor, vocalist, clinician, lecturer, and evangelist.

Besides King Jives, another YouTube page called The Official Tyesse Report also weighed in on Riddick’s latest alleged arrest claim.
At the start of his 37-minute video on Wednesday, Tyesse shared that the report might be false and someone was trying to “smear” Patrick Riddick’s name. He further claimed that the mugshot he received is likely from the artist’s 2024 arrest, and the arrest records were reportedly fabricated.
“They probably cut the booking thing in half and use somebody else’s charges. That is diabolical,” the YouTuber stated.
However, later in his video, Tyesse seemed to receive confirmation that Riddick was seemingly arrested on Monday, and shared:
“Oh my God, it’s true!”
Notably, in February 2024, Patrick Riddick was reportedly taken into custody and charged with simple assault against a family member and strangulation resulting in wounding or bodily injury. He has never spoken publicly about it to date.
