Ed Kelce is in deep grief. His partner of many years, Maureen Maguire, has passed away at the age of 74. She died peacefully on August 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, the obituary said. She was called a “beloved friend” in that notice. Despite that label, many news stories referred to her as Ed’s longtime girlfriend. The obituary reads,

"She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch. Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest."

Reports by People Magazine and Heavy Sports state that they were a couple for “many years.” There is no exact date for when their relationship began. But news outlets describe their bond over “the past few years” and say she was his “longtime partner.”

They were seen together at sporting events, family times, travel, and life in the Philadelphia suburbs. They seemed close and shared adventures. So while we do not know the exact number of years, it is clear they had a long, steady partnership before she died at 74.

Ed Kelce and Maureen Maguire's relationship and shared life

Ed Kelce and Maureen Maguire had a quiet life together before the Kelce name became very famous. Friends and fans often saw them at Kansas City Chiefs games, attending with Ed and sometimes with her dog, Butch. The obituary mentions how she developed a love for football later in life and enjoyed attending games and trips with Ed and the dog.

She was described as,

"A natural hostess, she was famous for throwing the best parties, always full of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable food."

The obituary further mentioned,

"Maureen found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved the beach — especially the shore — and had a deep affection for dogs. In recent years, she spent treasured time in Cape May with her family, enjoying peaceful days by the ocean," it further shared."

She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, her brother John, and her sister Loretta.

The obituary called Ed her “beloved friend.” But in interviews and media, they have been referred to as partners or as girlfriend and boyfriend.

Ed Kelce and Maureen Maguire's public moments and memory

In February 2024, Ed Kelce spoke to the Los Angeles Times and shared a funny moment. Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, posed with Ed for a photo. Maureen teased with a laugh, "Hey, that’s my boyfriend." Taylor Swift laughed too. That moment showed Maureen’s playful side and her bond with Ed and his family.

Earlier in January 2024, Ed Kelce described a scene on Audacy’s radio show. Taylor Swift walked into Travis’s home before a game. Ed said he recognized her face but could not remember her name. Maureen quickly stepped in and said,

"You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot."

Everyone laughed, a sign of Maureen’s wit and how she cared enough to help Ed Kelce lightly. Those moments show that the couple was known to family and in light-hearted public scenes. The stories also prove they had been together at least by early 2024, which is one and a half years before Maureen’s death.

Fans and friends have left sympathy messages on Ed’s Facebook posts. He shared her obituary on August 2, 2025. In the days before she died, he posted photos of himself taking her dog, Butch, to visit her in the hospital. He captioned one, “Visiting mom.”

Although the exact time they met remains private, Ed and Maureen shared many years, memories, and joy. She was known to support him in his time with family and to bring warmth to their shared life.
