The EXIT Festival 2026 world tour is scheduled to take place in Croatia in May 2026, in Macedonia in June 2026, and in Malta in August 2026. It will also be held in Egypt in October 2026, and in India and Serbia in November 2026. The festival is transitioning to a world tour format after facing government pressure and political fallout in Serbia over its support of the student protests in the country.

The festival's 2025 edition saw protesters put up resistance symbols, including one in memory of the 16 people who were killed in a train station roof collapse. This train collapse was the event that triggered the student-led protests against the Serbian government. There were also protest banners and rally photos in the festival premises.

According to the BBC, Serbian authorities cut government funding for the event, and political pressure forced some festival sponsors to withdraw from participating in the festival.

Speaking about EXIT Festival's 2026 world tour in a press statement, CEO Dušan Kovačević, stated:

"After 25 years at the Petrovaradin Fortress, EXIT is now spreading its wings to the world. We aim to unite continents through our festivals and carry the spirit of freedom wherever we go."

The CEO continued:

"For us, music has always been more than entertainment – it’s a powerful force that brings people together and builds bridges between nations and cultures. Our mission is to awaken new generations to believe that a better world is possible, and that it all starts with each one of us."

EXIT, as per its official website, is collaborating with Venture Lifestyle for its upcoming Egypt edition, to be held in the Great Pyramids in Giza. In Croatia, the festival will host the Sea Star Festival in the Stella Maris lagoon in Umag, Istria. In Malta, the festival is collaborating with G7 events, and in Belgrade, Serbia, it will host the No Sleep Festival.

Alongside the announcement for EXIT 2026, the festival website also has a fundraiser titled SAVE EXIT Freedom. Interested patrons can either directly donate or support the fundraiser by purchasing future tickets, perks, or digital assets from the fundraiser partner RIDG.

In the fundraiser appeal, the festival has proclaimed its support for the ongoing Serbian student protests:

"EXIT was born from a dream of freedom 25 years ago, sparked by a generation that refused to stay silent. Today, as we stand once again alongside the students of Serbia in their courageous fight for justice, EXIT faces unprecedented challenges - complete withdrawal of public funding and relentless pressures that threaten its very existence."

The appeal continues:

"Now, more than ever, we need your help! If you believe in freedom, if you feel the power of music to ignite change and inspire hope, please stand with EXIT. Your donation directly supports one of the last truly independent festivals on Earth."

The appeal added:

"Together, we can defend the right of every human being and organisation to think, speak, and live freely. Your support means the world - because the fight for freedom for one is a fight for freedom for all."
