With a teaser drop today, Nintendo has officially confirmed that the name of the next Mario movie is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Although the title was leaked online earlier, this is the first time it has been confirmed by Nintendo itself. The movie will be the second film in The Super Mario Bros. Movie franchise, with the first having been released back in 2023.

Although the teaser doesn't reveal much, it is still enough to get fans excited, as the movie will hit theaters sooner than expected. The teaser itself simply shows Mario chilling under a tree, and this is followed by a journey that ends at a shot of Princess Peach's palace's stained glass window, and finally, a visual through the clouds to reveal the name of the movie.
Not much has been revealed about the plot of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie so far
The teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie divulges very little information about the movie, except for the official announcement of its name and release date. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the movie will follow a similar plot to the game, where Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser during the Star Festival. Bowser takes Princess Peach, who is inside her castle, and goes into outer space.
In an attempt to save Princess Peach, Mario also ends up going to outer space. There, he meets Rosalina, who sends him on a side quest as well when she shares her story of how Bowser attacked her home planet and left them in distress. Rosaline is also an interesting character in the game, as she takes care of little creatures that resemble stars.
While it is now known that the main characters in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be voiced by returning actors, there has been no announcement about the actors playing the newer characters, like Rosaline. So far, we know that Mario will be voiced by Chris Pratt, Luigi by Charlie Day, Princess Peach by Anya Taylor-Joy, and Bowser by Jack Black, among other characters.
