The sequel to the commercially successful film adaptation of the video game series, Five Nights at Freddy's (2023), is coming this year, on December 5, 2025, to be precise. And now we have a new poster of the film, courtesy of Blumhouse. Deadline first broke the news that the poster was shown at the CCXP festival in Mexico City, and later Blumhouse dropped it on their socials.
Below is their Instagram post where a communication device dubbed FazTalker with Toy Freddy's face can be seen. Below the face, you can read the couple of words, "You There?" In case fans are wondering, yes, it does look like a fuel canister.
The first film was a box-office success, with almost $300 million earned against its $20 million budget. It was the 25th highest-grossing film of 2023, preceded by Migration, Never Say Never, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, etc. They all raked in over $300 million globally.
What do we know about Five Nights at Freddy's 2?

The plot of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is wrapped, and the main antagonist of the first film, William Afton (Matthew Lillard), will be back. The fact that Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) is also there in the film indicates that this isn't going to be a prequel kind of thing and that the former likely survived the events of the last film.
Other than Lillard and Hutcherson, actors appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 include Mckenna Grace, Wayne Knight, Elizabeth Lail, and Piper Rubio, among others.
Scott Cawthon, the original creator of the video game series and the screenwriter of the first film, confirmed that the second film will follow the events of the second game. He is writing the screenplay to the second film also. While Mike Schmidt was the focus in the 2023 film, we might see a new character called Jeremy Fitzgerald, who was the lead in the second installment in the video game series.
Earlier this year, we got to see some set photos of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, uploaded by this Twitter (now X) user called Deducer.
We can easily see the rundown pizzeria with the sign saying its name is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and the mascots above it. The film is said to have wrapped up filming as of February 2025.
However, this isn't likely to be the end of the film franchise, and there will likely be a sequel to Five Nights at Freddy's 2 too. Matthew Lillard confirmed this while appearing in an interview with WeeklyMTG.
If this one becomes a commercial success like the first, then the door to the third will open for sure. However, the pizzeria might not be there and could be replaced by a horror-themed attraction.
The director of the first film, Emma Tammi, is returning for the second one, and it might add to the hopes that we will get the similar direction that made the first film worthwhile. However, it was a critical failure and is currently at number 80 if we go by Blumhouse Films' Rotten Tomatoes ranking.
On that list, Get Out (2017), Sweetheart (2019), M3GAN (2022), and more are dominating the critical charts.
