In the song, the singer has seemingly addressed the allegations of being an industry plant as well as other comments made by Adin Ross previously about her in a livestream rant.Now Adin Ross has now responded to Doechii's song, stating in a livestream:"You've fallen off now. Alongside the allegations of being an industry plant, her music has been called out as having an anti-men agenda after she responded to the question of dating red flags with the answer that, for her, it was straight men.Her music has also been dismissed by some netizens online as 'slave trade music', a racially connotative dismissal also faced by other black rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, as per Billboard.The rapper has referenced Black history throughout her newest mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heals, with the third track from the mixtape, Boiled Peanuts, being named after the snack that was brought to the US by slaves from West Africa. She has also referenced the Black Lives Matter movement in her music.
