Happy Gilmore 2 cast and character guide: Meet the new and returning actors in the comedy sequel

We will soon see Adam Sandler picking up that golf stick in Happy Gilmore 2, which is releasing on July 25, 2025 and will be available on the streaming platform Netflix. Returning alongside him are a few familiar faces, including Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, and more. And then there are new faces that will appear in it. A lot of them, actually. If you see the IMDb listing of the film, you'll know what we are talking about.

The film will continue the story after almost three decades, where Sandler's Happy Gilmore will again be seen in a championship to get some big bucks. Though this is certainly going to be a bigger event, and Gilmore may be assembling a GOAT team. Even if that's not the case, we sure will see veteran golfers, singers, and actors who have made this film possible. So now we will see who is in the movie.

Returning characters in Happy Gilmore 2

Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore

The main man, of course, is Adam Sandler, who will reprise his role in the upcoming movie. Gilmore was first a hockey player but it was Carl Weather's Chubbs Peterson who saw the talent in him and guided him to play golf. IN the first film, he played because he had to pay off his grandma's debt. In the second film, he is playing because he has to pay for his daughter's ballet school.

Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit

Three decades ago, Happy met a woman called Virginia Venit, a public relations director who becomes his love interest. Now she is his wife. Lucky guy!

Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin

Like the Joker completes the Batman, Happy Gilmore is incomplete without Shooter McGavin. The main antagonist of the previous film will return in Happy Gilmore 2. There's a moment in the trailer where Happy and Shooter come face-to-face in a cemetery where Chubbs was buried. This encounter is a clear indication that this rivalry hasn't really ended yet.

Ben Stiller as Hal L.

The arrogant grandpa Hal is back in Happy Gilmore 2. And his dialogue,

"Check out the name tag grandson. You're in my world now."

Tells us that he hasn't changed a bit. Anyway, he's portrayed Ben Stiller, so he is already a fun character.

New characters in Happy Gilmore 2

There are literally around a hundred new faces appearing in the film, so we sure can't explain every single one of them. So we will discuss some supporting characters and major cameos here.

Lavell Crawford will appear as Chubbs Peterson's son. He too have a prosthetic wooden hand. Let's hope Happy don't swing a hockey or golf stick on this one.
Sunny Sandler will appear as Happy's daughter Vienna. She is actually the daughter of Adam Sandler.
Bad Bunny will appear as Happy Gilmore's caddy.

Some professional golfers appearing in the movie include Keegan Bradley, Bryson DeChambeau, John Daly, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, and more. Additionally, rappers Eminem and Post Malone will have a cameo in it too.
