Actor Chadwick Boseman is officially set to receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is best known for his portrayal of King T'Challa in Marvel's Black Panther.

The announcement was made by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, as reported by Variety on November 13, 2025. The news has sparked notable reactions online.

Chadwick Boseman's star will be officially unveiled on November 20, 2025. It will be the 2,828th addition to the Walk of Fame in the Motion Pictures category. The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Hollywood Experience.

Chadwick Boseman's widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the honor on his behalf. As reports suggest, the event will feature speeches by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and actress Viola Davis. She was Boseman's co-star from Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Netizens reacted to the posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame announcement, saying:

"Deserved, of course but Hollywood only honors him after he is gone. Imagine if this recognition came when he could see it and inspire the next generation in real time"

Netizens' reactions to Chadwick Boseman being set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,

"Chadwick Boseman will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

Netizens were notably quick to jump into the comment section of the X post as they shared their thoughts on the news. Below are some of their reactions:

"When Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama on behalf of her late husband Chadwick Boseman at The #GoldenGlobes.", remembered an X user.
"Boseman's final role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom may have been his best. Boseman earned his only Oscar nomination & narrowly missed a posthumous win, losing to the legendary Anthony Hopkins. I still can’t believe he is gone.", expresed another.
"Can we talk about how wild these institutions are when they continue to center symbolic gestures over material respect, as if posthumous acknowledgment can substitute for honoring someone while they were alive. This kind of delayed celebration functions as a feel-good performance for the industry, not a genuine engagement with Chadwick’s legacy or the inequities he navigated. It also flattens his brilliance into a commodity, turning his memory into a spectacle rather than a sustained commitment to supporting Black artists in real time.", commented a third.

Others also chimed in:

"Deserved. Forever my Black Panther, but he was also just one of the greatest actors of his generation. From Jackie Robinson to Thurgood Marshall, he was just incredible. F**k cancer.", penned a netizen.
"Dude's final performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom earned him: - Golden Globe Award (Best Actor) - Critics’ Choice Award - SAG Award - Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. An absolute legend, take a bow...👊", noted another.
"Humble soul left this world too soon. Yet even in Chadwick Boseman's passing, his spirit continues to rise, a symbol of the impact he made and hearts he touched. May your legacy continues to shine, guiding us with grace and humility and a reminder that greatness sometimes wrapped in gentleness", commented a third.

Congratulations, Chadwick Boseman. Rest honored in peace.
