President Donald Trump attended the Men’s Singles final match of the US Open on September 7, 2025, and his presence reportedly caused disruptions at the event. The final game, which saw Jannik Sinner go against Carlos Alcaraz, was attended by celebrities including Mindy Kaling, Lindsay Lohan, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Ben Stiller.
A source for Page Six alleged that the presence of the POTUS at the event caused delayed entry for several celebrities. The parking lots were reportedly inaccessible, and attendees had to walk a long distance to the venue:
"It is an absolute s–t show. Cars can’t enter parking lots, and people walk miles. Even celebs are having to wait like normies.”
A-list celebrities like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ben Stiller had to wait in line to gain entry. Will & Grace star Debra Messing reportedly waited in her car for over an hour before she was attended to.
Donald Trump reportedly booed at the US Open finals

Word on the street is that Donald Trump received a mix of cheers and boos at the final match of the US Open 2025. NBC News reported that as the American president walked around waving to the 10%-full stadium at around 1:45 pm, he was met with a mix of waves and cheers.
He then took his seat at the Rolex box at midcourt. Before the arrival of the president at the tennis event, the United States Tennis Association advised broadcasters not to televise any adverse reactions from the crowd. Broadcasters were asked to avoid showing disruptions or negative responses on air.
“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity, including ENG (Electronic News Gathering) coverage,"
The final match between Sinner and Alcaraz started behind schedule due to “security measures in place,” the US Open explained in an X tweet:
"As a result of the security measures in place and to ensure that fans have additional time to get to their seats, we have pushed the start time of today's match to 2:30 pm ET."
Donald Trump attended the event alongside some top aides, including Susie Wiles, White House Chief of Staff, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Scott Bessent, Treasury Secretary.
