Looking for books to add to your 2025 library? Dakota Johnson, through her book club has curated a collection of some of her best reads. The Fifty Shades actress launched her book club, the TeaTime Book Club, through her TeaTimePictures Entertainment company in 2024.
The online platform offers a selection of books for avid readers. Every month, Dakota Johnson highlights a book for readers to focus on. She provides a comprehensive review of the book on Instagram and also adds a reading list or curated playlist for an enjoyable reading experience.
In an interview with Bustle published on March 5, 2024, the 35-year-old actress discussed her reasons for launching the book club. She revealed that she began the venture due to her passion for reading and investing in books.
Dakota Johnson further elaborated on how the TeaTime Club operated.
"TeaTime and I have an Instagram channel where you can chat with whoever signs up, and every few days we’ll release a deep dive as we read along together.”

1) Make Your Way Home by Carrie R. Moore for August
This short story collection is the first book in Dakota Johnson’s book selection for August 2025. The story explores the search for love in the most unexpected places.
2) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams for July
This book is one of the actress’s favourites and for good reason. The Sci-Fi novel follows the story of a man who travels across the universe with unlikely companions—a group of aliens.
3) Flashlight by Susan Choi for June
This novel by National Book Award winner Susan Choi follows a protagonist who revisits her past to learn more about her father’s disappearance when she was a child.
4) Audition by Katie Kitamura for May
For May 2025, Katie Kitamura’s Audition is Dakota Johnson’s top pick. The novel explores two alternative realities for two individuals that promise to draw the reader in.
5) The Antidote by Karen Russell for April
The Antidote is the top pick for April 2025. It is based on the stories of five individuals who struggle to survive after a dust storm ravages their Nebraska town.
6) Loca by Alejandro Heredia for March
For March 2025, Isabella has advised book readers to check out Loca. It is a story of two friends, a nerd and a young mother, who try to navigate life’s challenges.
7) The Lamb by Lucy Rose for February
The book’s flower-themed cover is appropriate for the month of romance. The horror novel follows a mother and daughter with unique appetites as they explore cannibalism.
8) Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke for February
The yellow-backed book is a collection of all the letters Rilke had mailed to a young writer and officer cadet. The actress describes the book as one that helps to keep readers in perspective about life.
