MCU has been active since the release of Jon Favreau's Iron Man, which led to the foundation of the multi-billion-dollar franchise. Until then, there were other projects based on Marvel Comics, such as Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, directed by Sam Raimi, or 2005's Fantastic Four. However, it wasn't until Robert Downey Jr. that the comic-based movie and TV universe became a serious idea.

More than two decades in, this cinematic universe has expanded across multiple formats, focusing on different forms of storytelling brought into the mix. Charlie Cox's Daredevil is decidedly dark and gritty, while Guardians of the Galaxy is fun and peppy. There is no dearth of heroes in the comics, driven by their ambition to protect the world and be the almighty savior. It has led to many projects in the MCU.

If someone hasn't caught up on all their projects until now, they might have a hard time picking on some easter eggs. So, they may want to brush up on their memories for a future team-based Marvel movie. Some fans believe that one must follow the order in which the movies have been released. Others believe that they should instead follow these projects chronologically — meaning in the order events happen in this blockbuster universe.

The latter opinion comes from Warpaint Journal. On Instagram, they claim that it is the perfect way to binge-watch the MCU. Read further to find their preferred order.

Is this how MCU projects should be binge-watched?

The list from Warpaint Journal initially includes some formative MCU movies along with an in-universe show and the Brie Larson starrer, such as:

  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • Agent Carter
  • Captain Marvel
  • Iron Man
  • Iron Man 2
  • The Incredible Hulk
  • Thor
  • The Avengers

Then, it includes projects with the pre-established heroes along with the foundational projects for other characters, like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jessica Jones:

  • Iron Man 3
  • Thor: The Dark World
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  • Daredevil (Season 1)
  • Jessica Jones (Season 1)
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Ant-Man
  • Daredevil (Season 2)
  • Luke Cage (Season 1)
  • Iron Fist (Season 1)
  • The Defenders

Gradually, the list leads to more recent MCU projects like:

  • Captain America: Civil War
  • Black Widow
  • Black Panther
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming
  • The Punisher (Season 1)
  • Doctor Strange
  • Jessica Jones (Season 2)
  • Luke Cage (Season 2)
  • Iron Fist (Season 2)
  • Daredevil (Season 3)
  • Thor: Ragnarok

The list also keeps adding more Marvel shows to the mix:

  • The Punisher (Season 2)
  • Jessica Jones (Season 3)
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp
  • Avengers: Infinity War
  • Avengers: Endgame
  • Loki (Season 1)
  • What If…? (Season 1)
  • WandaVision
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
  • The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
  • Spider-Man: Far From Home
  • Eternals
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Toward the end, the list goes like this:

  • Hawkeye
  • Moon Knight
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
  • Echo
  • She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Thor: Love and Thunder
  • Werewolf by Night
  • The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

It further reads:

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
  • Secret Invasion
  • The Marvels
  • Loki (Season 2)
  • What If…? (Season 2)
  • Deadpool & Wolverine
  • Agatha All Along
  • What If…? (Season 3)
  • Daredevil: Born Again
  • Captain America: Brave New World
  • Thunderbolts*

However, much like any other fandom, Marvel fans have strong opinions about their beloved superhero universe. So, they took it to the comments to say that this list doesn't come from a real Marvel fan.

Some of them pointed out how it includes some unnecessary projects while omitting Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movies and shows like Inhumans and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
