James Gunn is one of the most active personalities on social media platforms. One cannot say when and where a comment from him will pop up and spark speculations among fans as he tickles them with his quips. That was the case here again, as he took to Instagram's microblogging website Threads that he is working on his next film. When a fan asked if he's onto something new, he responded,

"Pre-writing. Tooling around. I'm deep in finishing Superman and Peacemaker."

It is one brand-new film, that's for sure, as the filmmaker confirmed in his comments section. There are a few films that are still waiting for the full crew to get on with the production. These include The Authority and a couple of untitled films, one featuring Teen Titans and another featuring Bane and Deathstroke. It seems like James Gunn isn't lending his hand here, not even in production. Only an official announcement will tell.

Though we should say all the ones falling under the DC Universe umbrella, we are talking about the projects with his active involvement. That obviously begins with Superman, which is just a couple of months from its release. In a recent update, we got to see a sneak peek, which gave us a better look at the Fortress of Solitude. We may have a new trailer coming in soon after Gunn teased the fans recently.

Then there's the character's cousin, whose film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, will follow Superman in the Chapter One: Gods and Monsters saga. Recently, we got to see a temporary logo of the film that David Krumholtz shared on Instagram. He will be Zor-El in the film, Supergirl's father, who will soon be killed. James Gunn is attached as a co-producer alongside Peter Safran in there. That's the case with The Brave and the Bold too.

For films in his vision of DC, that's all. Other than that, he is also involved in a couple of TV series, Creature Commandos and Lanterns.

James Gunn created Creature Commandos, which basically kicked off Chapter One: Gods and Monsters saga already, with the first season currently up and running, concluding with the seventh episode on January 9, 2025. Indira Varma, Sean Gunn, David Harbour, and more are among the few who have lent their voices to the series.

The latter one, Lanterns, is scheduled for 2026 and will follow Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Kyle Chandler is playing the former, while Aaron Pierre is the latter one. Not just them, Nathan Fillion will join them as Guy Gardner with the iconic bowl cut in the series. He was recently seen alongside Isabela Merced and Sean Gunn in Peacemaker's season 2, where Gunn is the showrunner. Both play Hawkgirl and Maxwell Lord in it respectively and all of them will appear in Superman.

Other than DC, James Gunn is also involved with Warner Bros. Pictures' Coyote vs. Acme, a comic and legal take on the famous Looney Tunes character. John Cena, Will Forte, P. J. Byrne, and more are set to star in the film
