Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez tie the knot in star-studded Venice ceremony

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony held on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice on June 27, 2025. The wedding, which has been heavily discussed by fans and media for months now, had celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady and Usher in attendance.

The Amazon billionaire and journalist threw a multi-day party in the floating city attended by some of their closest friends. Sánchez’s Dolce and Gabbana wedding dress was a mix of Italian lace, a corset and a mermaid-style hem.

She shared a picture on Instagram of herself walking next to Jeff Bezos on a grey carpet. The couple and their guests were all smiles. Jeff Bezos and Sánchez expressed their love for Venice in the wedding invitation. The couple shared that the ancient city was special to them:

"This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come."

In the days leading up to the wedding, several residents of Venice protested the lavish affair stating that climate change and overtourism had caused the city to start sinking. In contrast, the officials of the city stated that the protests were not representative of majority of the people’s believes and they were proud of Venice’s choice as the wedding location.

Vogue released an interview with the journalist as she went dress fitting for the big day on June 27, 2025. Sánchez revealed to journalists that the Amazon founder had helped her unearth a different side and made her live more freely:

“I went into a lot of therapy, and it’s changed me in a bunch of ways. But it’s really Jeff.” She pauses. “Jeff hasn’t changed me. Jeff has revealed me. I feel safe. I feel seen. He lets me be me. Like I said about Sophia Loren being unapologetically free, he lets me be unapologetically free.”

The couple reportedly sourced 80% of their wedding needs and materials from Italian vendors and advised their guests to make donations to Venice as a form of wedding gift to the couple.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez were engaged in 2023, after news of their relationship broke in 2019. Bezos shares four children with his former partner Mackenzie Scott, while Sánchez has a son and daughter with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell and a son with former partner Tony Gonzalez.
