Following the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel's The Tonight Show, numerous celebrities have lent support to the late-night show host. In his opening monologue segment, Jimmy Fallon addressed Kimmel's suspension on September 19. After welcoming his audience, Fallon noted,

"Well guys the big news is Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC after pressure from the FCC, leaving everyone thinking, 'WTF'?"

He added,

"I don't know what's going on?"

Looking shocked and disappointed, he continued,

“This morning I woke up to 100 text messages from my dad saying I’m sorry they cancelled your show. I go, that’s not me, that’s Jimmy Kimmel.”

He said candidly that he isn't fully aware of the situation and "what's going on." He went on to appreciate Kimmel and said,

"I do know him, and he is a decent, funny, and loving guy. And I hope he comes back."

Fallon went on to indicate that many may believe that they will censor their narratives, but he is not going to do so, and cover news about the "president."

Jimmy Fallon has expressed support for fellow late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and has clarified that he isn't going to censor his views. Apart from Fallon, NBC's Steph Meyers took a sarcastic dig at the President's administration and noted that it is on a "crackdown of free speech" (reportedly indicating Kimmel's suspension over his remarks involving Charlie Kirk).

Before continuing, Meyers clarified to his audience that he has always "admired and respected Mr Trump." Dubbing Trump a "visionary", Meyers noted,

"If you have ever seen me say anything about him, that's just AI."

In his news segment, Meyers played a compilation of celebrities and politicians, including Barack Obama, speaking about the potential use of political coercion to hinder free speech. He described it as an honour to be Kimmel's "friend" and added,

"This is a big moment in our democracy and we must stand up for the principles of free expression."

Stephen Colbert also took a scathing review of Kimmel's suspension, describing it as a "blatant assault on the freedom of speech."
