Kpop Demon Hunters cast and character guide: Who plays whom in Netflix's action movie?

The Netflix action movie KPop Demon Hunters is freshly released on 20th June 2025. This animated movie has a brilliant voice cast, including Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, and Ahn Hyo-seop as the leads.

Helmed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the film follows the plot of how three women, who are a part of a globally known Kpop band 'HUNTR/X', join together as demon slayers to safeguard their fans. However, they are now faced with a new challenge as a new boy band named 'Saja Boys' appears to be famous, which is nothing but demonic entities.

1) Ahn Hyo-seop as Jinu

Actor and singer Ahn Hyo-seop lends his voice to the main bad guy of the film, Jinu. He has been here for 400 years. By the villainous entity Gwi-Ma, Jinu has been granted a boon of incredible singing prowess, but at the cost of his soul being under control by this evil.

Jinu leads a fresh new boy band named Saja Boys, which attracts a lot of attention. But this is all a trap set to accomplish their mission. Even though Jinu is shown to be an antagonist here, his character is multidimensional as he showcases feelings of empathy and care as well.

Apart from this film, Ahn Hyo-seop is known for his work in series including Queen of the Ring (2017), Still 17 (2018), Dr. Romantic (2020-2023), Lovers of the Red Sky (2023), Business Proposal (2022), and many more.

2) Ji-young Yoo as Zoey

Zoey is one of the members of the popular K-pop girl band HUNTR/X, where she pens the lyrics of the songs that they make. Zoey lived in California in her early days and then shifted to South Korea.

Actor Ji-young Yoo has voiced the character of Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters. As reported by Netflix, this is what the actor says about her character:

“She’s the only Korean American in the group and is really trying to figure out what that means and where she belongs,”

“Feeling a little bit [like an outsider], she’s always providing ideas to seem irreplaceable — which she is. She just doesn’t necessarily know it herself.”

3) May Hong as Mira

Mira is a brave and fierce woman who has fought tradition in order to gain her autonomy and independence. She comes from a rich, affluent family who have orthodox values. In the band, she is the main dancer and choreographer.

Actor and model May Hong has given voice to the complex character of Mira in KPop Demon Hunters. Along with this film, May Hong's acting credits include High Maintenance (2016-2020), New Amsterdam (2018-2023), Adam (2019), and Tales of the City (2019), to name a few.

4) Arden Cho as Rumi

And finally, the lead singer of HUNTR/X, Rumi, arrives!

She is extremely passionate and diligent, and strives hard to take down the demons. She is a child of an ex-demon hunter and a musical sensation. However, she harbors a secret and gradually comes to terms with it, and slowly accepts it.
