Legendary studios grabs the movie rights for Harry Potter fan fiction Alchemised 

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary studios has acquired rights for a film adaptation of the forthcoming Harry Potter fanfiction 'Alchemised,' penned by SenLinYu.

As per the outlet, the book is set in a parallel, battle-scarred world. It follows an alchemist named Helen Marino, who has apparently lost her memory. In those memories lay some crucial secrets. She is now held captive in a prison, and is out now to uncover the secrets to protect herself. However, her memory loss shall now be analyzed by a notorious necromancer.

An excerpt of its synopsis goes as follows:

"In this riveting dark fantasy debut, a woman with missing memories fights to survive a war-torn world of necromancy and alchemy — and the man tasked with unearthing the deepest secrets of her past."

Legendary to make the film adaptation of Harry Potter fanfic, Alchemised

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, author SenLinYu's forthcoming Harry Potter fan-fic, Alchemised, is in the process of being made into a film by Legendary Studios.

The studio is known for producing some of the most successful films in the industry, including 300, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Inception, Clash of the Titans, Interstellar, Jurassic World, Dune, A Minecraft Movie, to name a few.

While speaking to the outlet, SenLiuYu expresses their feelings about this development by stating:

"I’m honored by Legendary’s incredible enthusiasm for the project and can’t wait to see the world of Paladia come to life."

It is also revealed that this particular agreement has been one of the most extravagant deals, crossing a sum of a whopping $3 million, as per reports.

As per the outlet, Alchemised had initially commenced with a storyline involving the popular ship amongst the Potterheads, Draco and Hermione a.k.a. 'Dramoine'. However, it developed into a story involving the alchemist Helena in Paladia, a war-struck world filled with necromancers that imprison Helena, who has lost her memory.

As per GoodReads, here is an excerpt of the plot of the book:

"To uncover the memories buried deep within her mind, Helena is sent to the High Reeve, one of the most powerful and ruthless necromancers in this new world. Trapped on his crumbling estate, Helena’s fight―to protect her lost history and to preserve the last remaining shreds of her former self―is just beginning. For her prison and captor have secrets of their own . . . secrets Helena must unearth, whatever the cost."

SenLinYu, in their previously written Harry Potter fanfiction 'Manacled,' had explored Dramoine as well. In that story, Harry Potter dies at the hands of Lord Voldemort. The author has a rich background in classical liberal arts and culture, and currently lives in Portland.

The upcoming book, Alchemised, is slated to release on September 23, 2025. Some of its early reviews have poured in as well, as Kirkus Reviews writes:

"The superb worldbuilding and intricate plotline make [Alchemised] a must-read."

Similarly, The Washington Post, whilst listing the book amongst the 'Six Noteworthy Books for September,' reviews:

"A sweeping tale of resilience that considers the complications of finding love amid the violence of wartime."
