Miriam Margolyes is opening up about her health and her preferences for her final days. Speaking to The Daily Mail, the Harry Potter actress said:
"I don’t want to go through a slowly diminishing period of pain and embarrassment. If a stroke meant I couldn’t speak, or I was doubly incontinent, or I lost my mind completely, I would ask to be put down. That’s because I want to be who I am. I don’t want to be less than I can be."
Miriam Margolyes is 84 years old. Margolyes also revealed in the interview that she doesn’t want to rely on Ozempic for weight loss, saying it’s a medication intended for people with diabetes.
Starting her career as a voice artist, she worked on projects like the Japanese series Monkey and the BBC Radio 2 comedy The Betty Witherspoon Show, which helped her get attention in the industry.

However, speaking to Vogue UK, in another interview, she said:
"For me, ‘Harry Potter’ wasn’t important. I was very glad I got the part and I enjoyed being in it and meeting all the people, but it’s not Charles Dickens."
