New Zootopia 2 trailer revealed a new adventure for Judy and Nick

The trailer for Zootopia 2 is fresh out of the oven from Walt Disney Animation Studios, and we witness our favorite cop duo, Judy and Nick, in a whole new adventure!

Slated to be released on 26th November 2025, the magic of the iconic 2016 film Zootopia comes back to the screens with this sequel. The film is helmed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard. The film follows the escapades and new challenges posed by Judy and Nick when a snake named Gary hisses his way to access Zootopia.

The film has an incredible voice cast too, which includes Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Ke Huy Quan, Idris Elba, Quinta Brunson, Fortune Feimster, Jean Reno, Maurice LaMarche, and also Shakira!

Let us dissect what the newly launched trailer reveals about Zootopia 2.

It seems like Judy and Nick are 'partners in crisis' in Zootopia 2

The official trailer for Zootopia 2 opens with Quinta Brunson's soothing and gregarious voice as Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka who is a therapist, a.k.a. the 'therapy animal.' Our own 'partners in crisis' duo, Judy and Nick, have booked a partners' therapy session in order to navigate some things between them. Many other interspecies couples, like Judy and Nick, are also in the room.

It looks like after a week of Judy and Nick getting married, they have come to this session. Just when Dr. Fuzzby asks the couple about their reason for arriving at therapy. Judy quickly jumps into answering the question. She says:

"Well, we've been official partners for one week. Happy Anniversary! And we are functioning fine, better than fine. And we did sort of save the city. So, us being kind of seems like a huge misunderstanding."

That is when Dr. Fuzzby points out the unbalanced dynamics of the couple, citing Judy's imperiousness and Nick's precariousness. The trailer then follows the other couples' chaotic interactions with one another, to which the solution is that Dr. Fuzzby has a water hose.

Chief Bogo assigns a case to Judy and Nick to find the whereabouts of a snake that has entered Zootopia. But there is a condition posed by the officer-if at all the pair fails to solve this 'make or break assignment,' the couple will be ripped apart! So it looks like this film will explore deeper into the romantic life of the couple, as well as their professional lives as cops.

Then the trailer follows with multiple sequences of dancing and chasing, where we see Gary the Snake. Going by the glimpses involving the serpent, it looks like Gary has a deeper purpose in entering Zootopia, as he utters lines such as:

"I am sorry"

And also says this before escaping into a huge water pipe:

"I have to help my family. Cannonball!"

Towards the end of the trailer for Zootopia 2, we see a hilarious and wholesome moment at Judy and Nick's wedding. Judy, in her bridal attire, looks radiant in a yellow dress. However, her big floppy bunny ears are tucked in like a bun. Our groom Nick, who also looks dapper in the black and white tuxedo, remarks:
