Shalana Hunter, aka Tokyo Toni, seemingly voiced her support for Sean Diddy Combs. On May 19, 2025, the social media personality shared an Instagram story where she claimed that the hip-hop mogul must be released from prison. She wrote:
“Again !!! Like I said FREE PUFFY!! Let the men handle him on the streets!!!!! Domestic violence from a couple okay!! And freaked out stuff! Free Puff" ok he a fr**k and that's his business.”

Social media users had mixed reactions to her statement, with a majority criticising her. One Instagram user (@lindaigboeli) commented:
“Always on the wrong side, not surprised.”

Netizens suggested that they weren’t surprised at Tokyo Toni’s comment.
“It’s not his business when it involves other people,” a social media user (@fitchick_) wrote.
“I wouldn’t expect anything more from her,” a netizen (@jenamire) noted.
“I'm so glad I'm educated,” an online commentator (@vic_lara) shared.

While many Instagram users raised questions about how the case against Diddy should be handled, others claimed that Tokyo Toni should not be commenting on the matter.
“So she wants the street to handle him??? Tok hush!!” an internet user (@melissaking7457) mentioned.
“She's the last person who should give any kind of advice,” another Instagram user (@amgreen0426) commented.

This isn’t the first time Toni has spoken in support of Diddy. She had previously advocated for his release through the “Free Puffy” slogan on social media. Besides that, she even questioned why everyone was annoyed at him.
Here’s why Tokyo Toni thinks Diddy was not guilty
Tokyo Toni had previously expressed strong opinions about the accusations against Diddy, claiming that many celebrities had long been aware of his actions but did nothing.
According to HotNewHipHop, she suggested that the situation seemed like a setup and questioned why authorities hadn’t been able to act against him despite years of allegations.
She also made controversial comments about victims, implying that they shouldn’t have been in those situations in the first place, and compared the situation to the case involving R. Kelly.
In an interview with RealLyfe Productions in 2024, when asked about Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy, which was filed for $30 million and settled, Tokyo Toni suggested that being in a relationship for ten years was already a long time. She believed the large settlement wasn’t just about Cassie, but a way to keep others quiet as well.
She implied that Diddy likely made calls behind the scenes to make it go away. When questioned about whether Cassie might have been under the influence during their relationship, Tokyo Toni responded that Cassie may have willingly entered that lifestyle.
She also said she didn’t believe Diddy was guilty of the things he was accused of, questioning how he could have escaped scrutiny from law enforcement and remained publicly visible.
Meanwhile, with regard to the ongoing trial, one of Combs’ ex-assistants, David James, testified that while purchasing certain personal items, he would opt for cash transactions.
He alleged that there was no reimbursement for those items because they were not to be recorded. James also described the difficult working conditions, adding that he was once hospitalised due to dehydration.
