Blake Lively has words of appreciation for her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Lively’s beauty brand, Blake Brown, launched its latest hair and body mist, which Reynolds promoted through his Instagram page in the stories.
Meanwhile, Lively shared a screengrab of the same on her Instagram story, writing:
“@vancityreynolds = my favorite person”
This heartfelt equation was followed by a lengthy post. Blake Lively shared that Ryan Reynolds genuinely enjoyed using the hair and body mists, especially the Wild Nectar Santal scent.
At first, she thought he was just being supportive, but then she realized he loved how it smelled on him. According to People, she shared that his skin picks up:
"the more woody and masculine notes, with the lighter sweetness falling in the background."
The notes blended with his cologne, too, she added.
Blake Lively reflected on how fragrance could adapt uniquely to different people, regardless of age or gender. The actress wrote:
“Smelling so different on him, than me, and different on us than our moms, or our teenage family members. All the things that were key to us while creating these scents.”
In an exclusive interview with People magazine published on May 19, 2025, the actress explained that the idea to release hair and body mists was not part of the original plan. It came about after fans repeatedly asked for a fragrance product.
She understood the demand, admitting she enjoyed walking through a cloud of good-smelling products for the scent.
Blake Lively breaks down the idea behind the new additions to Blake Brown
Blake Lively shared in her posts that once she decided to create the hair and body mists, she focused on making sure the scents could be layered well, as she enjoyed mixing different fragrances.
She wanted the hair products to double as perfume, unlike most hair care items that didn’t match her taste in personal fragrances. After working with a top perfumer, she learned that notes like wood or gourmand are harder and more expensive to include in hair products.
Nevertheless, she ensured the bottles looked elegant and retro, beautiful enough to display, yet practical to carry around. Blake Lively added:
“I'm somebody who uses a lot of product, so I like products that are user-friendly that you can build and you can get your hands on. And I think that getting people comfortable with being able to really use a higher quantity of product, because I think that when it's something that people aren't as familiar with, people don't use mousse as much anymore. They don't use masks as much anymore.”
Blake Lively shared that one of the biggest lessons she learned over the past year as a beauty brand founder was the importance of listening to her community. Even though her team initially didn’t plan to launch hair and body fragrances, customer feedback showed strong interest.
This taught her that paying attention to what people love, and adapting accordingly was key. She emphasized that in all areas of her work, whether creative or business-related, being open to feedback often leads to unexpected but valuable new directions.
