Did Francia Raisa attend Selena Gomez's wedding? Internet chides the singer for allegedly vaping and not inviting her kidney donor

What netizens did not fail to notice is that actress Francia Raisa was reportedly not present. For those who might not be aware, Raisa was Gomez's kidney donor in 2017. At the time, the Calm Down singer was struggling with lupus. According to a report by The Daily Mail and Cosmopolitan, Francia Raisa reportedly did not attend the wedding.

In one of the videos from her wedding day posted on X by Pop Crave, Selena Gomez was seen holding a vape while Taylor Swift was recording her in her wedding dress. Social media users criticized her.

One X user commented:

“Not inviting the girl who gave you her kidney while vaping and ruining it is crazy.”

Similarly, another online commentator asked:

“What about her kidney donor?”

A second user mentioned:

Meanwhile, according to Parade Magazine, Francia Raisa shared her thoughts about the wedding invitation. She stated in the interview with Magaly Ortiz,

“I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her. And look… she has a life and she is already a billionaire and I am grateful that I could do that for her.”

Although she spoke in Spanish, what she stated was that she was happy for Selena Gomez’s wedding. She also mentioned:

“Look, from the beginning the doctors told me, it’s a donation. If you are going to donate a dollar to St. Jude or somewhere else, you’re not going to call to say, ‘Hey, what are you doing with my dollar?’ It’s a donation and it’s something nice that I was able to do. I am grateful that I am alive and I can say that I have saved a life.”

What did Francia Raisa say about the rumors of her being upset at Selena Gomez?

There were rumors that Selena Gomez did not treat her body well after the transplant. This allegedly made Raisa unhappy. According to Parade Magazine, she stated that such claims were based on false stories spread by the media.

She said that she never made any such claim and didn’t even know about the rumor claiming she was upset with Gomez for smoking. Raisa went on:

“No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. One day, maybe we will address it.”

When Selena Gomez had her kidney transplant, she shared a heartwarming Instagram post, writing:

“And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

In 2023, Raisa told USA Today that she and Selena Gomez hadn’t spoken much in the last few years. However, she clarified at the time that there was no dispute between them. She said they both didn’t know what caused the distance, but taking time apart helped them grow and become better when they reconnected.
