Here's what we know about Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's breakup
According to multiple reports, the pair has been experiencing a rough patch in their romance for some time now. Many claimed poor reviews of Perry's 143 album affected the tension, too.
Amid all the speculations, an insider disclosed much-anticipated updates on Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's courtship to Us Weekly.
The source shared:
"Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
The undisclosed individual also added that the couple's love life has "been tense for months."

Presently, the Firework songstress is busy with her Lifetimes tour "and is distracted." While she is travelling the world for her shows, she has rented out her Westcott property in Montecito, California.
The insider also reflected on this apartment and explained:
"But her and Orlando have always lived in their other Montecito home as their primary residence."
Also, Katy and Orlando had started to plan to build this Westcott property into "their family home," but their ideas have changed now. Bloom is now "living apart."
In a conversation with the outlet, an insider opened up about the couple's relationship struggles in June. The individual claimed:
"They have been spending more and more time apart. They’ve grown apart and aren’t living the same lives anymore."
Another person shared that people close to Katy Perry and Bloom already knew about the strain in their love lives. The source stated:
"It’s an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now. Everyone around them knows."
A look at Katy Perry's dating history
Katy Perry has often made headlines for her romance with celebrities. She has been romantically linked with some significant names in Hollywood. From Orlando to John, let's take a sneak peek at her highly publicized love life.
Johnny Lewis
The Dark Horse singer briefly dated Sons of Anarchy-famed Johnny Lewis between 2005 and 2006.
Travie McCoy
According to Us Weekly, Katy was with McCoy from 2007 to 2008. She reflected on her romance with Travie in a 2009 conversation with MTV News, sharing that she was focusing more on her profession. She added:
"Well, it’s a new year, and I’m very focused."
Josh Groban
While Katy Perry rarely shied away from commenting on her dating life over the years, she denied the 2009 dating rumors about Josh via her rep. In fact, Josh's rep also mentioned that he was not in a relationship with the Harleys in Hawaii hitmaker.
A few years later, in 2013, Groban hinted at his association with Perry in an interview with Details, saying:
"We might have skated on the line of dating."
Perry, too, looked back on their bond years later and playfully responded in a YouTube livestream, adding that Josh was
"the one that got away."
Russell Brand

One of Katy's most talked-about romances was her relationship with Russell. According to Business Insider, the estranged couple first met in 2009 on the set of Get Him to the Greek.
She made a cameo in the film and acted in a brief, scripted scene where she had to make out with Russell. Recalling the shoot in 2010, the Grammy winner told Glamour Magazine (via MTV):
"When he was filming Get Him to the Greek, I did a cameo with him. My scene called for me to make out with him. And on the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny. I hop like a bunny when I'm happy. I get a bit childlike. He gives me the Christmas Eve jitters."
In September 2009, they bumped into each other at the MTV Video Music Awards and soon began dating. Within a few months, Brand popped the question and got engaged in January 2010 in India, as per Us Weekly (via Business Insider).
In October 2010, Katy Perry married Russell Brand in an intimate ceremony at the Ranthambore National Park's tiger sanctuary in India.
Just after a year, Brand decided to end the marriage and filed for divorce on December 30, 2011. They finalized their divorce in July 2012.
He released an official statement to announce the separation, People reported. He stated:
"Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."
Russell ended his marriage by sending just a text to Katy. She was busy with her tour when she received the news. In a 2013 interview with Vogue, she recalled getting the message, noting:
"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
In July 2012, on The Howard Stern Show, the Rock of Ages actor discussed why he ended the marriage. He said they had different plans for the future. While he wished to have a family and settle down, Perry was focused on her singing career.
Brand shared:
"She's young, successful, and dedicated. You can't fully understand it until you do it. I was really into the idea of marriage and having children."
He continued:
"I don't want anything to hurt her. She's younger than me, she's a young woman and she's beautiful and she's sensitive and I care about her deeply ... I don't want to be too glib. She'll read it and she'll be sad and I don't want that."
Robert Ackroyd
After her divorce, Katy was with Robert for a short period. However, their romance ended quickly. She spoke about Ackroyd with USA Today, as Us Weekly cited, and explained:
"[It’s] not even appropriate to label [us a couple]. There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious."
John Mayer
Per E! News, Katy and John first met in person in September 2009. However, they started dating in 2012.
Perry chatted with W magazine in 2013 and expressed her excitement about dating Mayer, sharing:
"I actually am dating my crush. I had a crush on him for a long time."
After an on-again, off-again relationship for almost three years, they called it quits in 2015. The Waiting on the World to Change singer refused to discuss the split during a chat with Ellen DeGeneres, as cited by Us Weekly.
He clarified:
"I can understand asking the question based on some previous answers I have given, but I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other. I've been much happier since then."
Diplo
After her hot and cold romance with Mayer, Perry dated Diplo. They broke up in March 2015 after dating for almost a year.
Orlando Bloom
Katy Perry first met Orlando Bloom in January 2016 at the Golden Globes afterparty. According to People, they split in 2017 and gave their relationship a second chance in January 2018.
Next year, on Valentine's Day, Orlando proposed to Perry, and they got engaged. In August 2020, they had their first child, daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are yet to comment on the alleged split speculations.
