Country music star Keith Urban was in for a surprise drama when his interview with Australia’s Mix 102.3 was abruptly cut short right before the hosts brought up a personal question about his wife, Nicole Kidman.

Amidst the speculations, insiders close to People Magazine have said that it wasn't his decision to bail. The moment happened during Tuesday’s live appearance on Hayley & Max in the Morning, where the star was promoting a concert he is scheduled to put on at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

According to the New York Post, the interview was going perfectly fine until Urban discussed being back on stage and expressed his appreciation for the local audience, calling it “a good vibe.”

But things took a turn when co-host Max Burford started the show’s Wall of Truth segment and questioned the singer about Nicole Kidman's romantic scenes with actors like Zac Efron. Speaking about her part in the Family Affair, a 2024 Netflix film with Efron, Burford asked:

"What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?"

The call hung up moments after the question was asked. The hosts wondered if Urban’s staff had hung up on them in light of the delicate nature of the question:

"I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question. He’s gone, see you Keith," the show's producer said.

But the rumors were promptly shot down by a source talking to People Magazine. The insider continued, noting that Keith Urban’s not in charge of setting up his own Zoom interviews, and explaining that the incident was “a complete nothingburger.” The source also said that the singer was “very easygoing” and was not upset by the question:

"Keith did not hang up, period. He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger," the source told the outlet.
